Nice kit. Magnet works pretty good boys lifted a 55 gallon drum out using the magnet and grapple hook together

So, I bought this kit last summer. The first thing I did was weld the eyebolt on, so it definitely wouldn't come off. The magnet stuck to my metal table so hard I had to beat it to the edge with a block of wood and a hammer. I then took it out many times. I didn't really get much, but like real fishing, that's how it goes. Today, I wasn't paying attention and the magnet ended up stuck to the side of a bridge. It's still there now. I couldn't pull it off. My wife and I couldn't pull it off. I hooked the rope onto my 4 wheel drive vehicle, and it still didn't budge. So, I am now without a magnet and rope. I promise, this magnet is very powerful on a flat, clean surface, which is what the rating is for. Most everything under water is rusty, dirty, and covered with scale. That means you need a lot more magnet than you think you do. But, you need to be careful of that power. Do not let it adhere to a nice, flat surface, if you can help it. You will lose it. But, that's how it goes. You're going to lose it eventually. As soon as it hits something heavy enough that you can't lift it, you're done. It's a fun hobby, and I'm buying more magnets right now, but know that buying any magnet is not your final purchase. You will almost definitely lose it eventually.

I like it. Does really well. Don’t always sit straight on bottom but for the price it’s a go !
