Incredible series written by a masterful author
I love this series. I have read them all on kindle and now want to own the physical books. Diana Gabaldon is one of the greatest authors of our time. Her creativity and her mastery of words is stellar. The love story of the 2 main characters is incredible. For all the challenges they face, they believe in their love and will do whatever it takes to reunite. There is violence in this series and very graphic sexual content. For mature readers only, not young readers.

A must read!
I discovered the Outlander books after watching the Starz Series. I usually read the books before the show or the movie but in this case I discovered the books because of the series. I am obsessed with both now!!!This is one case of the TV series very accurately paying homage in a way that stays true to the books and Diana Gabaldon's epic vision and imaginative world she has created.I am ahead in the books than where the series is so far and I love being able to discover what will happen to my beloved Jamie and Claire and not having to wait until next season. I can't put these books down! I go from one right into the next with many a night spent reading on my tablet until the wee hours of the morning only stopping when sleep cannot be staved off and my eyelids lose the battle against my desire to read just one more chapter! These books have just the right mixture of fantasy, romance, action, and historical fiction and everything is underlined by the epic love story of Jamie and Claire. There is a colorful and complex set of subplots and supporting characters who almost could warrant their own story lines and separate books.Diana's world is so carefully and well crafted it could go on forever. She could continue to peel back the layers of her other characters and mythic world into an endless series of books and stories as she has already begun to do with some of the spin-off stories like with the Lord John books.I love Diana's writing style and her world and I am so happy to have found the Outlander universe through the books and the TV show which, thankfully, is staying true to her vision and voice.

Very well written and researched
I have greatly enjoyed this series. The books are well written and researched. The notes at the end should be read as well.

What a great read...
These books are such a rare treat! I have joined the thousands upon thousands who wait impatiently for news of the next novella, tv episode or great big juicy book. I binged through the eight books, grateful that they are long and complex and that I can easily read them over and over. I am resigned to wait and to patiently endure Gabaldon's good-natured website ribbings about how we clamor for more and more... because I really am smitten with the Outlander world and enamored of the lovely mind of the author. The thing that hooked me and reeled me in is the way Gabaldon engages sense memory. She is forever telling us how places and people smell. It helps me remember details -- how odd it that? The other thing is that I like Claire so much and I love when she tells me the cheeky things she is thinking. Also Gabaldon has such an interesting view of how the sacred and the profane connect. Her magical world is very plausable -- she knits together the time travel and the ghosts, the fairies and the healing herbs, love and life and death and sex and blood and guts and horrors that must be answered by wise and cunning and brave and bloody protectors -- and the world makes sense. I thnk she has done a Good thing here.

Read the rea story as it was originally written.
We have been enjoying the series over the years. My wife loves to read the original story as it was meant to be presented without all of the entertainment field's add ons. We purchased the first series of books and my wife truly enjoyed them. She found a number of places where the filmed story wanders away from the real story. So as this new series moves along we will be up to understanding what the writer really meant. They are paperback books of good quality. Long stories as the books are about double the pages of most normal paperback books. Comes with 4 complete story novels in a collection case to keep them ready and at hand when you want them. My wife is already enjoying them, and I am sure she will be sharing where the story wanders again with me.

Great writer and story.
Priced very reasonable. Pages are very thin and it’s easy to turn two pages at once. Print can smear if anything on your fingers. I’d still buy it again!

Great price, great series!
I obviously don’t love mass market print, however, these came in great condition. There are no issues with margins or spines or anything. Cannot beat this price. Very pleased.

Best saga ever!
Best series of books I have ever read despite the length and oft tedious detail about nothing. When the action comes I just can't put the book down. Many long nights of lost sleep! I'm very happy though because I'm retired and have nothing but time on my hands. I am soooo involved that sometimes I don't know if I dreamed something or Clair dreamed the incident. Now that is hitting home! I've finished the first 6 books and rue the day that I finish. Purchased this for my daughter. She loves it too but in her busy life it is taking her forever to read.Ok, I finished the 8th book and now awaiting book number 9. I did think Diana got a bit sloppy in her chronology though. I picked up on 2 discrepancies.1. John Grey asks Dottie if Ian survived his wound at location 90030 in the book yet Grey attended Ian's wedding months ago in location 87190 and saw that Ian was in obvious good health and fully recovered.2. (Without giving away the name) the family buried someone in the Chapter "Hallowed Ground," (location 91144) alongside the grave marked Rollo yet further along months later in location 91746 Ian was scratching the dog's head. I think she forgot Rollo was dead.Did anyone else catch this? Still 5 stars though because the research required for this saga is overwhelming.
