Would the printer detect this as a counterfeit or non-canon cartridge?

My Canon printer (MF 229) did not indicate in any way that this was not an accepted, or acceptable, cartridge.

Does this work for Canon MF242dw

I looked up the Canon MF242dw printer on Google and it looks like it uses a Canon 137 Black replacement cartridge. The LxTek Compatible Toner Cartridge is a replacement for the Canon 137 cartridge. So it should work with the MF242dw printer. Hope that helps.
