Awesome popcorn maker
I'm going to be honest, I wasn't expecting a lot given the odd random bad review about it burning popcorn and not popping the kernels, but I was right to ignore the negatives. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this at all, it's so simple, no need for space taking, energy hungry popcorn machines when this does it perfectly and then folds up to put in the cupboard, it's genius.Initially I added some oil and salt to the first batch, put it in my 800W microwave for 2 minutes and it burnt everything, stank the kitchen out and set the smoke alarm off. Back to the drawing board I thought. The second batch, I just put the kernels in and some salt, this time I cooked it for 2 minutes again and it came out perfect, but there were quite a few kernels un-popped at the bottom so I redid them after finishing the first batch and they popped as well leaving only 4 or 5 kernels left. For my machine, I've found that 2 1/2 minutes, air popped is the best for near perfect popcorn with very little kernels left, but it will be a bit of trial and error depending on your microwaves efficiency and power. The kernels start popping around 40 seconds, then everything goes wild about 1 minute 20 in, then backs off between 2 minutes and 2 minutes 30.If you overdo it slightly, the popcorn comes out firmer and smaller as it obviously dehydrates more, any more than this burns it, and it stinks when that happens, so I'd err on the side of too little time as you can always put it back in for longer. The lid fits loosely inside the bowl, but it sucks itself into place when in use so doesn't move like I thought it might, even when it's being bombarded with bits of hot popping corn, it then rises up the bowl on its own as the popcorn pops, it's pretty clever.I haven't tried it with butter, but based on my experience with oil, just bear in mind that anything containing fat which you add to the kernels will decrease the cooking time, which I think the people complaining about it didn't take heed of. I don't really follow why there appear to be so many people who don't understand the concept of trial and error, if you don't do much cooking and rely on labels all of the time rather than using your common sense, eyes and ears, then you'll undoubtedly come unstuck. It definitely doesn't deserve a bad review just because you cook a bad batch, thats not the products fault, it's yours, just readjust the time or recipe and try again until you get it right. Patience here definitely pays off and once you've got the time down, you can make perfect popcorn every time without fail. The air-popped stuff is great for dieting as well, its very few calories and quite filling so forget your perception of sugar and oil saturated cinema popcorn, this stuff is cheap to buy, high in fibre, healthy and low calorie, you could even sweeten it up with Erythritol or Stevia if you wanted, I prefer mine salted though and a little salt goes a long way with this.Anyway, this is great, does exactly what it says it does and the fact thats its dishwasher proof and folds really small is just a bonus really, I'd definitely recommend it, I was pleasantly surprised and popcorn might be making a regular appearance in my house now, it's pretty morish!

Absolutely Fantastic! Value for money!
Where to start? This was the best purchase I've made in a long while being that I am a HUGE popcorn fan.In the box you get a good sized collapsible bowl with a lid that sits inside about half way in the bowl (so popped corn gently pushes the lid up in the bowl during popping)The only faults are:1. The instructions printed on the box do not inform you that the bowl should be standing up in the microwave (the collapsible part is simply just for ease of storage and does not aid in the popping process; if it is collapsed in the microwave you'll be picking out all the popcorn that flew out of the bowl.)2. That the handles are "cool touch". I would advise getting your oven mitts to pull it out of the microwave and taking the lid off as it gets too hot to touch. My go-to method is a teaspoon of rapeseed oil and salt in with the 50g of popcorn (if you're a calorie counter it doesn't add up to much so win; you could actually use even less or eat it plain). I also mix this in a separate small bowl before putting it into the microwaveable bowl just in case extra oil was the cause of the brown base some people have complained of. I have used it over 10 times now and have had no problems. The negative reviews tend to say:-Half the popcorn is getting burnt.SOLUTION: If you collapse the bowl you will see indented in the same colour as the actual bowl there two rings at the bottom that say "50g" and "100g". (Easy to miss- I did the first time). Fill to either level; depending on the wattage of your microwave you will see which one works best (just remember to pull the bowl back up to standing position). For me it was 50g, which only takes two minutes to pop all but a few kernels (like microwave popcorn, just listen to when it gets to a few seconds between the pops to stop the microwave). When I did try 100g it did burn half so...To get a regular microwave bag popcorn yield I have to do this twice each time, but I don't really mind, as it's cheaper, healthier and tastes a lot better. (Just for that added surety I also popped a microwaveable bag of it to taste the difference and ate them side-by-side naughty me!)I had previously bought a popcorn machine and used the standard stove top, but with the latter found my quantities of oil and popcorn to be exceedingly unhealthy and with the former air popped, spit out chewy cardboard like popcorn which was just- ew. I had almost given up until a spot of late night shopping I stumbled upon this magical creation.Honestly it's a product the manufacturers should be proud of and I am proud to own it!

Great product.
We bought this so we could reduce spend on our snacks, and this is a really good product to help you do that. You can experiment with different flavours (Sweet, Salty, BBQ , Coconut oil etc.) The popcorn comes out warm and tastes really good. You can buy around 1 kg of corn for £2 ($3) and make 30-40 bowls of popcorn , which saves you loads of money. The only negatives are that you cant make a really big bowl in one go, you've got to make a few smaller ones and pour them into another bowl. The product also gets a bit too warm sometimes and has some very slight discolouration after a few months of use.100% i would buy this again.

Brilliant!
I was a bit scared of some of the other reviews but we could easily eat popcorn everyday and don't really have space for an electric machine, so I decided to go for it.I have a Neff combination microwave with no turntable.I added a cap full of rapeseed oil to the bottom of the bowl and added 1 cup full of popcorn, I stirred the kernels until they all looked coated in oil.The microwave was set to max, which I believe is 900. I started at 3min and the kernels started popping at 2min. By 1min it hadn't done much (as was peeking through the window), so I added another 2 mins. At about 4.40 I was concerned about it burning that I stopped it.As you can see from the picture, not much more could have popped as the lid was almost off and was touching the top of the "oven".Very pleased with the result, it's made loads of popcorn...roughly 8 desert bowls full.I checked the kernels left unpopped and that was about 1/2 a cup so next time I won't add as many and it should pop almost all the kernels beautifully. Very pleased!!
