Good value for the money, works well for paint correction/polishing
I bought this set as I was finishing up paint correction/cutting (light orange peel, dust nibs, etc) on a recently painted car restoration project following wet sanding and needed to get in to a variety of tight spaces for detail polishing. While the car was painted with a single stage urethane, these pads would also work with clear coat finishes. First: the adapters work well and were sized as described. If your DA polisher (I use a Porter Cable 7424) takes a 5/16 - 24 threaded backing pad, this will work and allow you to use that polisher with this set. Remove the counterweight on the spinning head for the smaller pads if you find the oscillation to be difficult to control while polishing. Save that weight and screws and re-install it when you go back to using the 6" pads. I use the non-threaded adapter for drills in smaller areas where I can't get the larger polishers in to. While the pads don't come with a guide to their color/cutting rate, the listing has a picture showing the coarse through fine pad gradient. Screen shot that and keep it for future reference. If all else fails, use this: from coarse to fine polishing G-Y-O-B-R (green-yellow-orange-blue-red). If all else fails, squeeze them. If they are dense/firm, they will cut more than polish. The softer they feel, the more polishing they will do. Like with all pads, I use a gentle touch to remove them, only gripping the velcro interface to gently lift them off of the hook side of the backing pad. You have to develop a little technique here if you expect them to last. Pulling the foam will only cause them to tear apart. Wash/rinse them when done using but don't let them soak for long periods. Get them in to your cleaning bucket, squeeze out the cutting or polishing compound and get them rinsed and drying for next day's work. Soaking them compromises their longevity, as it does with some other, more expensive pads I use for waxing and polishing. I've used this set nonstop for the past 4 days since receiving them and have no complaints. The smaller 1" disks don't have the thickness of the other pads so if you need to put some pressure on them to get them to cut and polish, you will have to be patient but they do work. I did inspect each pad carefully prior to use having seen reviews reporting glue issues. I wanted to make sure the backing interface was secure and that there were no spots in the cutting or polishing pads that would mark up the paint. My order was all good. I can see where these might last through one more paint job on another restoration project before I would have to replace them but I've been in the same spot before with more expensive pad systems so I'm not at all disappointed with their performance, especially considering their price. The 2" and 3" pads have good thickness and density for their intended purpose and seem to be holding up well thus far. I would definitely buy again.

Pretty good, did the job. The pads didn't last as long as I had hoped, but it was a tough job.

Worth it for the price
It works really great and has helped me polish a lot of small areas with just a drill, it's very soft and the cutting ability is really good. Really worth it for the money and lasts a long time.
