It stays in place and is pretty easy to clean. I have two male cats, and they both use it without any issue… mostly. One of them decided it would be fun to dig at the mat, and he managed to tear it up a little in the corner. Not enough to make it unusable, but just something to keep in mind if your cat’s a scratcher. I also ended up buying another one in a different color to go inside a litter box that’s built into their cat tree. It fits well and works just as great in that setup too.
