Basaho CLASSIC Zafu Meditation Cushion | Organic Cotton | Buckwheat Hulls | Removable Washable Cover

Used this a few times now and it is just what a zafu cushion should be. It's a simple, straightforward, well made, lined and fully stuffed cushion, from which you can remove however much of the buckwheat hulls you need to for tuning your preferred fit (in my photos I have already removed some of the filling. It was fully stuffed when it arrived).I love the colour, the material is sturdy and well constructed with well placed zips, and I like the removable cover not only for potentially cleaning but it adds to the overall quality too. The inner lining cushion is equally well made.It's a great size and perfectly supportive for me (a 6’3” bloke) and I can see it lasting a very long time.There's nothing fancy here just simple high quality and function, and I can't imagine anything else being more suitable than this for the job. I can’t speak to the actual durability yet, but quality materials and good construction point towards a potentially long life.

Loved the zabuton I ordered at the same time as this zafu; in fact, I have to fend off my cat to get on it! However, sorry guys, but I am no fan of this zafu. It does look good but is not comfortable. I will remove some husks from the filling to see if that improves the comfort factor, but at the moment, this zafu feels so hard it is like meditating on a rock, and a small rock at that as the size is a bit too small for the average western buttock! I'm afraid I have ordered a new zafu from Blue Banyan, larger and far more comfortable. I had one of theirs since 2010 which I lost in transit during a recent move. This being said, this zafu looks good and sturdy, nice material and lovely colour; such a shame it is so uncomfortable.

Not sure what the more expensive Zafus do that this one does not, but seems well made, good filling material (buckwheat hulls) and the hulls are in their own pouch so can be easily removed to allow for the cushion to be washed.I coupled this with the  basaho Zabuton Meditation Mat | Organic cotton | Recycled woollen fibre filling (Blue)  and am very happy with the combination.

My cushion arrived this morning, so I can't really comment on its durability, but I love the care with which it has been made, and the attention to detail – like the zip closure being put behind the handle so you can't see it (or, more importantly, sit on it!). I like the size – the cushion's a bit smaller (about 10cm maybe?) than other meditation cushions, which makes it more easily portable, and kind of cute. It's plenty big enough. I love that you can open it and adjust the filling according to your needs and wash the outer cover as and when necessary, without losing all your filling. The fact that it is ethically produced, with organic cotton and fair conditions for workers makes it all the more attractive. I'm very impressed.

I have never given a review up until now but felt that I should leave one for this product, as in my opinion it deserves one.This zafu is very well made, is a great portable size, and does its job perfectly. I honestly don't think that it can be bettered on price as the £20 included free delivery.It's nice to actually get a quality product for a genuinely decent price, as other companies seem to charge a silly premium for meditation products, which at the end of the day is surely the antithesis of what these products are about?The zafu is quite firm and it suits me perfectly, but anyone requiring it to be a little softer could easily remove some of the filling via the zip. It feels like it will last and be used for many years to come.Thanks Basaho for a great product that I highly recommend.

pros:- sturdy- eco friendly- refillable husks to adjust cushioningcons:- incredibly annoying husks. so fiddly and messy when adding and subtracting the husks. zip for this should be placed on larger part of cushion to allow more space for husk removal. a tiny plastic like spade/spatula should be provided to take husks out. add a husk bag to put husks into it. i've had to take out husks with a bowl and store into a carrier bag. incredibly frustrating- painful on my butt after 5-10 minutes. i think my taller body and wider frame means cushion to hard for me. a crescent one might be better for such a body type.recommendation:- best for smaller, lighter people.- be ready for a challenging task to add/subtract husks - put cushion over newspaper to easily collect stray husks, and use a small curved cup .- if your into eco, nature and meditation, quite a nice sensory, aesthetic and emotional experience.- great (quite necessary to avoid ground pains) with meditation mat - i got one from the same company.

Excellent product and such good quality. I have been promising myself one of these for years and I'm really happy with this item. Most are easily £10-15 dearer and this is really good quality, far better than I was expecting for such a fair price. Good colour and material and an excellent size for my bum! I have back problems and so I was skeptical about the support I would get but it's really comfy.

Great size and easily maliable when sitting on. The stuffing comes in a separate bag inside which is really handy! This cushion was a little too high for me, so I just had to take some of the extra buckwheat out to suit.Seriously good product! The cover is machine washable as well.I use this for when I want to sort through paperwork sat on the floor, meditation practices and as a bolster during some yoga techniques. Definitely reccomend as a first time buyer of a meditation cushion which now has multiple purposes in my life.
