Packs a big punch in its small size. Very nice, but not perfect.
July 2022Review after about a week of using and testing.Overall I would say this LezII bluetooth speaker is quite good. lots of pros. Most of the cons are minor, except one big one...ProsSound quality is very decent. It has 3 "DSP" settings. But only 1 sounds really good with a nice bass to it. The other 2 settings sound too high pitch and tinny for me. Maybe ok for dialogue only audio. But the 1st DSP setting sounds very good for music and movies.I like that it has a low profile look. With very dim lights on the buttons that light up.I like the top and botttom rubber matt, finish and feel.I like the wrap around grey fabric around the speakers and bass.It has 2 speakers in the front and 1 bass woofer in the back.It has an 'aux' input with a 1/8 inch 'mini' plug. Mine worked fine plugged into an mp3 player. The Bluetooth range holds well across 2 rooms, 2 walls and 2 doors.I like that these is no big (or small) brand name logo on it. It's discreet, humble, functional, utilitarian. The rectangular cubed shape and flat bottom make it sit very well. The rounded edges make it comfortable to carry, slide into a bag or pocket, and looks elegant.Very nice size. Easy to grab with one hand. Its not heavy. But its not light either. Feels kind of heavy for it's size. But that is to be expected from a speaker that has heavy magnets inside. It has paired well with multiple devices so far. A smart TV device. A phone. A computer. The 'play / pause' button will play and pause the devices it is bluetooth paired to. Including my smart tv device. And the volume button also works both ways. If you lower the volume on the speaker it will lower the volume on the paired devices. And viceversa. The cons:Battery life is definitely NOT what is advertised of 12hrs. At most I am getting 6 to 7 hrs out of the battery life. With the speakers on bluetooth and sound volume at less than 25%. Probably like 15%.When the battery reaches 20% it starts beeping every minute or so, to warn you to charge it. So in reality, not only does the battery last way less than the 12 advertised hours, but at the 20% mark, it's basically useless because it interrupts the music with a beeping sound. I know its 20% because my computer tells me. The speaker itself only has 3 little battery marker lights. (presumably at 33% each). When the volume is loud the speaker slowly but surely slides / moves. So if you have it close to the edge of an elevated surface, eventually, it could fall off.The rubber 'door' that keeps the ports dust free / protected, is very hard to open with your fingers when it is closed. I have to use a pen to open it. Small detail, but is annoying when you want to open it to charge it. Which is daily for me.No wall charger. No case or bag. For a few extra coins it would be nice for this speaker to be kitted with a USB wall charger and a longer (at least 6ft) cable. It comes with a tiny 1ft USB cable.Even though the charging port on the speaker is USB-C, the actual charging voltage it takes is that of regular USB (DC 5V 2A). So if you are going to buy a USB wall charger, I think buying a fast charge USB C will do you no good. The "ring" on the side of the speaker to carry or hang it is square. That is an odd shape for that function. Having a round ring always works better to hang something. That way the speaker would hang vertical, instead of at an odd diagonal angle with the square ring.Although the speaker is sold as LezII brand, it appears on the Bluetooth pairing as "A7 Pro".It would have been nice to have some kind of easy visual reference as to what the front of the speaker is vs the back of the speaker. The only reference on it is by reading the buttons at the top and sitting the speaker so the letters face you.It would have been nice for the battery indicator lights to have 4 lights instead of 3.I have not tested the water proofness of the speaker and don't intend to do it on purpose. It seems other reviewers have done so, and say it is water proof. As long as it doesn't get ruined with rain, I will be happy.I have not compared it to a brand name speaker side by side. I do intend to do that at some point. I think this one will hold up quite well next to a JBL of a similar size, for example.I do wish they made this speaker with more color choices. Maybe some matted colors and maybe some bright colors. I'm kind of tired of every electronic device being black and grey. For a portable speaker, I think, having a bright colored speaker would be more visible and less likely to get lost.Overall, I think this speaker is quite good, though. That's why I bother to write this review. This speaker packs a big punch for its size. A few minor design improvements and a real long lasting battery would make it excellent. If it gives me any major troubles or dies soon, I will update this review.

Amazing Bomb box sound
The quality of this speaker is amazing and unexpected. It’s not too big, but the sound is very loud and just enough for any occasion. I am very pleased that I made this purchase

The unit is nice. The price is right.
The bass is good but it could be better.

Bad volume control and auxiliary jack
This is a rant, bear with me... First off, I received the speaker loose in a large Amazon box without any bubble wrap, so god knows how many times it got banged around on its way to my home in the middle of de Pacific ocean ): I open the box and to my surprise, the sturdy package that contains the speaker appears intact including what I thought was its original shrink wrap (more on this later). I tear off the shrink wrap, open the box and the speaker is carefully wrapped in a plastic sheath. I take the speaker out of its wrapper only to find that there's no user manual or charging cable. No problem, I have a usb C cable so I plug it in and let it charge but I don't know how to work this thing. I look online for a manual and it's nowhere to be found. I figure I'll try the audio jack since I don't know how to pair it via bluetooth. Every time I insert the cable into the jack, the speaker makes all kinds of whistling noises. I try another cable, now I can hear the music but the sound fades in and out so I press the speaker volume buttons and it goes from nothing to super loud like it has no middle range; I check out the reviews and read many complaints about this. Nevertheless, since I don't give up easily, I try a third audio cable which by the way, all (3) work fine on my other speaker but still, as I plug it in, sometimes I get sound and sometimes nothing. But when the music comes through, it sounds pretty darn good though I have to adjust the DSP setting when songs have a lot of bass or the speaker vibrates causing distortion. Once the DSP is on the right setting, it does sound good BUT the audio jack and volume control are definitely problematic and I believe I was sold a refurbished product. Upon closer inspection of what I thought was the original wrapper, I can see that a different sticker was applied over the original (see attached photos). So DON'T BE FOOLED BY WHAT APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL PACKAGING. This speaker is going back to Amazon! And they will get an earful about the time I wasted on this thing.

Meh 🫤
I bought this to connect to my Echo Show because the sound from it is horrible. Unfortunately, this doesn’t connect to the Show so I’m returning it. When testing sound, it was ok. A lot better than others I’ve tried. Sound was a little “tinny”, and bass was present, but it lacked some depth. If it had connected to the Show I’d have kept it. Good enough.

Perfect balance of size for loudness
As I’m sure the same is for many reading this, I already had some small Bluetooth speakers but they just were not loud enough for anything more than my desk indoors. I needed something I could use outdoors that wasn’t too big and heavy.I tried a 20(2x10)watt bar that was just not loud enough for a mildly noisy outdoors.I tried a 60 watt unit that was plenty loud but very big, heavy, ugly and somewhat fragile. Kind of reminded me of an old portable small cassette tape stereo box if you’re old enough to have had those. This 40watt unit is choke loud enough for my needs without having to be cranked up to 10. Sound is crisp at all volumes. Bass out of the back so it’s placement to bounce it forward in front of a wall will help the deeper tones.And. It is small in size, check specs but ~2.5x2.5x8.0 inches. And not particularly heavyI’d buy it again

Easy Set-up & Good Sound Quality. Wish The Volume Control Was More Sensitive.
Got this speaker because I was looking for better sound than my iPhone, but didn't want "in your face" looks or a big price tag. This fits the bill from the economy and looks perspective. Set-up was a snap and sound quality is decent. It's unobtrusive and fills the room with sound. I wish the volume control offered more sensitive adjustments. It seems that 1 press of the volume control on the unit will go from too soft to too loud and vice versa. The partial solution seems to be to fiddle between the source volume level and the speaker level. Fit and finish of the device is excellent.
