Boulder Tools Tire Plug Kit - Heavy Duty Tire Repair Kit for Tubeless Tires

Bought it to leave in my truck and glad I got it. Comes in a nice kit and can’t complain about it. Haven’t had to plug a tire with it yet, but I can tell it is a high quality set. The tools feel great and not flimsy or cheap.

I got a screw in my tire on the interstate 300 miles from home and on a Sunday. I had enough pressure to make it to the next exit. I used this kit on a Falken Wildpeak AT3 W in a 275/70R17 with the normal load rating. I have never used a plug before, but I was able to plug the tire no problem just using the directions included in the kit. Pumped up my tire with my small tire inflator I keep in the car and I was back on the road in 45 minutes. It's been over 1k miles since I put the plug in and I am still maintaining tire pressure. I like the additional tools to help remove the object. The pliers were used the first time I used this kit. Very good value and the tool quality isn't cheap junk. I highly recommend taking your tire off the car as it will make setting the plug much easier, It's worth the time. Also get a tire inflator for your car.

Bought three of these tire repair kits for the wife and kids to keep in their cars; The kits have basically everything needed for an emergency tire repair. The kit stores easily under a seat or in the trunk and keeps everything together. Would recommend that everyone has one of these kits in their vehicle just in case; cheaper than calling a wrecker.

This turned out to be a far more timely purchase than I could have imagined. I bought this kit with the intention of keeping it in our 4Runner for off-road and road trip use later this summer. The kit arrived yesterday, and today I ended up with a gnarly screw in the tire of one of my other vehicles. The screw caused a quick leak to the tire, so I didn't have the option to drive the vehicle home, and I decided to patch the tire while it was still on the vehicle (obviously not the easiest way to do it, but still the best option based on where I was). The kit contained everything I needed to patch the tire, though I was initially frustrated with the size of the reamer, which seemed tough to get into the tire, and the thickness of the plug strip, which seemed to have the same issue (the reamer was probably twice the diameter of the screw in the tire). However, using the included lubricant made it possible to plug the tire, and I'm not sure we could have done it without that step. Additionally, the larger size of the reamer would be helpful if a larger diameter screw/bolt had caused the flat. After being plugged the tire held air, and I've driven it at least 25 miles at highway speeds without pressure loss so far. I think the lubricant is the key to making this process work smoothly. Overall I'd say that the kit is complete, well designed, and comes in a nice compact case that doesn't make me question whether or not I should throw it in the car or not. I deducted one star because the pliers that came in the kit are of a pretty low quality. I noticed some damage to the serrations on the jaws of the pliers after fighting the screw out of the tire, and there was also some play in the pivot point after this single use. I also had to use a second set of pliers to actually get the screw out, though this was mostly caused by the screw being really stuck in the tire (I think any set of standard profile needle nose pliers would have struggled on this screw, so that's not a direct fault of this set). Nevertheless, it's a pretty good kit overall, and since a high quality pair of pliers could easily cost twice as much as this entire kit cost me, I don't feel like the issue of it coming with cheap pliers was something to get too upset about. I may add some better pliers to the kit, but the rest of it works as intended. The kit still worked well enough that I'm considering buying another one to keep in my truck.

This is a great value for the money and excellent tire repair kit with all most will need for a quick repair. Being a MOLLE bag kit, an improvement would be a Rip-away MOLLE bag since it contains small tools and parts and unmounting it would help keep it all contained during use.

I got this pack so when I'm out for a ride, I can make sure to get myself home if I get a flat. Riding motorcycles we only get 2 tires and when one goes down that's it for us. At least in a car you have 3 other tires to slowly get to a service station or have a spare in the back. Not only are you prepared for a flat tire with this kit, but if you damage a valve stem there are some in the kit as well. Plus the tool to remove and replace the stem and some valve caps if yours blow away while you're fixing your flat. The tools included are definitely heavy duty. Think handles with sturdy reamer and plug insertion tool. Tons of plugs. Decent size plyers thank god. I hate toy size tools. There's an Alan wrench included to change out your plug holder for the spare one included. This kit earned each and every star 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 for doing all the thinking for us and making sure we have everything we need to get us back up and going as simply as possible.
