Are these made of plastic (like the post-it kind) or paper? I like to reuse them and am wondering how sturdy they are...

They are plastic and are just like the ones you get when you buy the metal shelving that uses them to hold shelves. They are quite strong as they hold up metal shelves.

How many clips are being sold here? Picture shows 35 pairs, or 70 clips. I'm not sure if I should just be confused or feel misled.

They are sold as each, and you need 2 to make the connection. So if it says 70, you are getting 35 pairs

Will these work with Metro brand wire shelves?

Yes, so long as the poles are 1 inch in diameter. It worked with my Metro super erecta shelving. The shelf clips I ordered came in a ziplock bags so you can return it if for some reason it doesn't fit. (Dec 2020)

will they fit on NSF brand shelves?

Just FYI, "NSF" is not a brand of shelving, it's a certification that the shelf supports the stated weight. Think of NSF like UL certification for electronics.

They are not a 1"

They are not a 1" clips theyre 18mm which is 3/4 inch clips. they advertised as 1 inch and they didnt fit.
