It fits along the shelf edge easily and the black blends in nice enough that I don't see that I didn't put it on perfectly straight :) It carries my cable to the other side so I can keep my computer out of the way. The rigidity will keep my cord safe, and I was able to cut it with heavy duty scissors. This was a good value and it's small enough for the function I need it to do and keep my cord off the desk without hanging off the edge of the shelf.
