Question 1

Is this a pulsed electromagnetic field gadget like the assisi loop?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both products are pulsed electromagnetic field medical devices. The US FDA has recently suggested the renaming of this technology to shortwave diathermy. HealFast's PetPatch Loop uses lower power which permits the attachment of the device directly to the site of the inflammation. PetPatch Loop is recommended to be kept in place for a minimum of 6 hours while the Assisi loop with a higher power source can't be directly attached and must be held in place for treatments of 15 min. duration.

Question 2

My 6 mo oud Lab has "osteo chronronsis" or "elbow displasia" is this sonething that could treat this elbow condition?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this technology has been helpful in reducing the pain and inflammation from dysplasia. You should position the loop over the elbow and fasten securely but not tightly with vetwrap or an ace bandage. Keep in place for a minimum of 6 hours, ideally during the night when the dog is resting. You should of course consult with a qualified medical professional to ensure that there are no other conditions troubling the dog.

Question 3

How do you know when the power is used up? Does the green light go off?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, I haven't used mine long enough to know. I suppose the little green light will no longer illuminate. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Question 4

What hertz does this produce?

Accepted Answer

Don’t know. In my experience, it was worthless and broke after a week on my dog.
