We love it!
My nephew loves this thing! It is large for a kid but full of lots and bells and whistles, lights turn on and off, there are C3PO sayings and you can change the picture the people on the starspeeder watch. It comes ready to play out of the box, no parts to put together or stickers to adjust. You can fit small star wars characters in the starspeeder. Be advised that it comes with a R2D2 but no other characters. If you love the ride at disneyland this is a great reminder of good memories!

Fullfilling a childhood dream
I have wanted this thing since I was 4 but of course it was way to expensive for me then. Now I have it. The lights and sound are excellent and it does very well just sitting on my desk as a set piece. Very sturdy, good for kids to play with. The doors can get stuck open but if you really press in on the door button, they will close.

Lightspeed Artoo, NOW!
I never got a chance to visit Disneyland as a kid, so my first visit was as a 25 year old adult. As an avid Star Wars fan, the first ride at Disneyland had to be Star Tours. Now I hadn't even been aware of this thing's existence until I was on the ride, hoping that they had an action figure scale one of these ships for sale in the gift shop on my way out. To my surprise, the first thing I saw as I exited into the gift shop was this amazing recreation of the Starspeeder 1000. On impulse, I handed Disney another $75 of my money, and carried this thing around the park the rest of the day (I was unaware of merchandise pickup at the time). This is my initial impression as I'm opening the box:-This ship is big. Like AT-AT big, minus the legs-Upon opening the roof to peek inside, I notice seating for a pilot and 9 passengers, which is a lot of figure space for one vehicle!-There are four "scenes" from Star Tours to insert in the view screen, each of which has unique dialogue, though more than one line per location would have been nice.-The doors on either side open in unison and play the welcome come from the ride, which is a very cool detail.-Buttons on the rear panel activate sounds (on the bottom) and the doors (on the top)-On the top, opposite the R2-D2 is a button that activates the concealed blasters seen on the ride.-R2-D2 is removable and replaceable with your choice of astromech droids, and makes three different chirping sounds when pressed down.-Directly behind R2-D2 is a hidden compartment that houses an IC360 camera droid from the ride, a very cool detail-Lights light up on the front end including the "grill" area and the cannons underneath. So this toy, chock full of features is indeed a better deal than most movie vehicles, has that exclusive feel, and will house ten total figures to enjoy the ride. I really enjoy the thing, and so does my 3 year old son. It's cumbersome though, and may not survive a lot of abuse by children. My one important complaint is that the interior stickers are placed very poorly and peeling at many corners, which is poor quality control for such an exclusive piece from Disneyland. I was able to carefully peel and replace most stickers and even give them a clear coat to protect them for the future, though I had to disassemble and reassemble it to do so. Overall this is solid four star material and could have had five stars if not for my minor gripe with the quality control. I thoroughly enjoy playing Star Tours with my son and flying this Starspeeder around with him.

Star Tours - Now Boarding the Starspeeder 1000
I purchased mine directly from Disney Parks Merchandise rather than pay sellers' high markups. The Starspeeder is a breathtaking reproduction of the Star Tours vessel from the ride! The doors on both sides are fully functional, with the top two buttons on the back of the Starspeeder. On my particular speeder, the left doors apparently tend to get stuck open if the button isn't pressed far enough. The other two engines on the back play the phrase corresponding to whichever card is in the viewscreen (more on this coming), or on the lower right, C-3PO commanding "Lightspeed, Artoo! Now!", followed by a jump to hyperspace. A small button on its starboard forward roof releases laser cannons from the front of the ship. The roof is detachable to provide access to the inside, with nine full-sized seats for figures to be seated and enjoy the crazed rides through the cosmos. A small compartment right behind the astromech droid socket (which comes with a special R2-D2 figure, although it will hold almost any R2 unit) opens to reveal a small camera droid, which apparently provides multiple views during the new version of the ride (I don't know, for I haven't been lucky enough to see the new Star Tours yet). The viewscreen slides - these are actually kind of cool. There are four, including shots of the Battle of Hoth, the Death Star under construction, a podrace, and (a hologram?) Yoda in space. Each of these slides, when inserted over the standard Star Tours hangar image on the movie screen, produces a different quote from the ride.Lastly, if you have also purchased the new Star Tours Travel Agency figure set, you can reproduce the new version of the ride. However, if you still have the original Captain Rex, and want to use him instead, the pilot's chair for Captain ACE or C-3PO can be removed, and the posting hole in the floor is actually shaped for Rex. I was delighted to see this!As a lifelong Star Wars nut, and a Star Tours fan, I'm pleased to have added this ship to my armada. If you can get it for a good price, do it. But it's not quite for younger kids.

At last, the Starspeeder
Fans have wanted a Starspeeder toy ever since Star Tours first opened in 1986. Finally, we got one, and Disney pulled out all the stops. At 19 inches, the vehicle is huge (Hasbro fans would call it a BMF-style ship). It's got dozens of sounds and lights and other features. The doors on both sides open with a press of a button. The view screen comes with four choices of location. The passengers' area seats 9 figures and generally fits them well. It's sometimes a bit tough to secure the seatbelt over the back row, but overall the figures fit snug and look like they're sitting naturally. Best of all, the captains chair can be removed in order to make room for the REX figure! My one caution is that I don't know if this ship would survive intensive play with kids. The structure seems a bit too fragile, but I could be wrong. Either way, this is a must for any Star Tours fan.
