Bought a new rug couple months ago and was getting tired of the constant readjustments. Enter Amazon, and, after much searching, I settled on this. Works like a charm. Super easy to set up...lay it down, smooth out wrinkles, put down rug. Done. And folks, that rug has not budged an inch since. It's in a major traffic area in my home and gets vacuumed regularly and has yet to move. Can't imagine why anyone has had trouble with it working properly. Butin case the size of the carpet pile interfers, mine is about 3/8". Also, be sure to vacuum thoroughly before starting. My one and only complaint is about the price. I am pretty frugal and the reason I spend so much time researching every purchase is to be sure I get the best bang for my buck. So almost $20 seemed a little pricey for such a simple product, but I couldn't find anything else cheaper that purported to do the same thing. And, lastly, the description is pretty clear, but just in case, this is designed to only work to secure a rug to carpet, not to smooth flooring. And it will not make your rug seem more luxurious or thick as it is not padding nor does it claim to be. What it does do, and quite well, is to keep your rug from slowly migrating out of position on top of your carpet.

The two-sided adhesive wasn't strong enough to hold onto the rug backing material. Within a few hours, despite efforts to get the rug to stick to the pad, the rug has never adhered to the pad. I have pads from another company that have worked well for years. Very disappointing since the pad was not inexpensive!

We purchased two of these. One was for a runner and the other for a fireplace carpet. For the first couple of weeks, the carpets stayed in place. That did not last long. The gripper did stay in place on the wall-to-wall carpet, but the gripper did not hold the runner and fireplace carpet to it. Therefore, these two still shifted a good bit. The gripper then became dirty because it was exposed. Will not purchase it again.

This rug pad works pretty well. Be sure to get all the wrinkles out before laying your area rug over it. Otherwise you will have creases in your rug. As mentioned in other reviews, it worked great the first week. Then I noticed the rug slipping and had to readjust. The rug pad was fixed securely on the bottom carpet, but not so much to the area rug it self. However, I removed the area rug completely and then replaced over the rug pad. It has been over 3 weeks and has not moved an inch. Not sure why it did not completely adhere the first time, but I am happy now. So, don't give up on it right away. Remove and reapply and hopefully you will have the same results.

For daughters room

product does not stay adhered to the back of the throw rug, even after great effort to make it do so, Needs corner guards to prevent rolling up corners. I wouldn’t buy it again. I had greater expectations for this product as I have 3 more throw rugs on top of carpet to fix.

I was struggling to find something to “stick” my gym mat to the carpet, otherwise it would “walk” along the carpet during workouts. Works perfectly and exactly as described. Not sure how this would work for a rug, but for a gym and/or yoga mat this is perfect. I vacuumed the carpet in both directions, laid down the pad shiney side up (measure ahead of time so you don’t reposition too much), flattened the pad out and pushed out any wrinkles. I peeled off the shiney film, then rolled up my gym mat on top. Smoothed over the gym mat to make sure it was adhered to the pad. Super easy and works great!

This area rug used to move constantly - every day I was pulling it about 2 feet back into place. Since I put this pad down, it has not moved a fraction of an inch. It is in our main hallway so we are always running around on it. Highly recommend! I just came here to buy a bigger one for our living room rug which I am also always having to shift. This bigger rug is a real nuisance because it sits partially under our 2 sofa sections and it takes 2 or ideally 3 people to lift things every time we need to move the carpet back into place. I will definitely be posting with the results for that carpet!

Its just OK. My carpet keeps creeping - just not as much as before. Needs adjustment every couple of days.
