Hoosier Hill Farm Premium Tomato Powder, 12oz (Pack of 1)

What a great product! I didn't know this existed until my friend mentioned it. It saves having a half-used can of tomato paste in the fridge until it molds, or not having paste when you need it. With this, you always have paste when you need it, and it's good to add to dishes otherwise. The taste is really good, just like tomatoes, and it thickens beautifully. What would be nice is to have the "recipe" to make paste on the container. But I love that it's dry and will las a long time in the pantry.

It is flavorful and I would purchase again.

This was a great surprise. I use this instead of tomato paste and love it. I store it in the fridge to keep it fresh. This works great when you only need a tablespoon of paste. You do not have to open a can and freeze it or use it up right away.

Going in with what my wife says on this, but she’s a big fan of this tomato powder and make sure to only brand this brand on Amazon for her cooking needs. She’s a great cook so I’m guessing this product is just as great.

I wouldn’t give any stars if I could. I can’t give a flavor review because when I Received, it was not protective sealed. That was a flag then the jar is only half full. Another flag so not going to even try. I can’t even return.

We are retired and things like this are perfect for the pantry as they have a long shelf life and we can use it as we need instead of buying this and only needing half a can and wasting the rest.

This was fine at first. I only use a few tablespoons at a time, so I will admit that the container is about a year old. However, when I went to use some this evening, it had hardened so much that even hitting it with a hammer barely cracked it! I went to the Hoosier Hill Farms website to see if there was any info there, but found nothing. When I filled out a form to contact them, I kept getting one of those messages with a red asterisk telling me I'd left something out. But I checked & double checked, and all the info was there. So no way to get in touch with them. It's a shame, because it's a good product. But it seems other people have had this problem and they've not addressed it. So the rating is for their poor customer service.

Love making a chili spice blend with this, or adding it to Mac n cheese to bring some more flavour.

This tomato powder shines when needing lightweight sauce for camping, just add water. The flavor was surprisingly strong compared to what I was expecting (in a good way). So I was able to use this powder as a base for jambalaya, and with some water and a few other ingredients the meal came out great. The water opens up the flavor, so if just tasting the powder it may not seeeemm good. I wasn't sure what to expect, ended up happily surprised. hurray! P.S. the amount you need for jambalaya is only a few table spoons so I have plently left for further camping. seems like many trips

Tastes of tart flavoured tomatoes. Not sweet. Half empty container due to the old saying … sold by weight not by volume.

Arrived today. Has a best before date of 12-27-2027, which is fine. But the contents are not all very powder-y. In fact, the container has several large and small lumps - see photos. Hard lumps that you can’t just break apart with a fork. Really surprising quality issue. I’m disappointed.
