Exactly what I expected and very pleased!
First of all, I have put together many of these types of models/puzzles and they are always a great distraction to the real world and give me something to do with my hands. I thought this was very much on-par with other brands I have done and am pleasantly impressed with how well it both looks and works! It will sit nicely with the other interactive types of these puzzles that I have put together. Now, I need to make a comment: to those who complain that there are parts that break easily: this is a MODEL, made out of less than 1/8-inch plywood. It's not made of steel or ceramic or carbon fiber. Yes, there are delicate pieces, just like in ANY model, so don't blame the manufacturer! It's equivalent to dropping a wine glass on the floor and then blaming the folks who made it. Don't be a dummy, YOU broke it, not them. The box has this version marked as "advanced" skill level, and I will agree. If you have not assembled one of these before, go with a smaller, more simple kit. Get to know how these things work, what tools you may need and how to work with (and repair) parts. While I have done many of these, inevitably I end up breaking a piece... even as methodical, deliberate and careful as I am. This isn't a starter. The instructions call for waxing the gears to aid in smooth operation, but I have learned that using wax is a great assembly tool too... if there are parts that take a bit of force to fit together, lubricate both parts where they connect with some wax and they will slide together perfectly.

Really good quality, but recommend buying glue and a 20 pack of 11mm bearings
Laser cut, seems accurate to at least a quarter millimeter, so all of the friction parts fit fair and snug. Also comes off the sprue easily, although I did break a couple spare parts and there were a few chips in the wood, especially around railings. Said railings also come loose in a couple places, but super glue fixes all of it. Pay extra attention to when/how many/color plastic bushings you put on the rods, they are a nightmare to remove. Also recommend buying an extra bag of 11mm steel bearings. The ten it comes with aren't enough to keep it running non-stop, so you spend half the time waiting for them to climb up. The flappy bit up top is a bit loose, but I think that's on purpose to give more jiggle to it. A certain pair of 'T' shaped parts go between plastic; find them on the box as soon as you make them and keep an eye out. Also took all day to build. They say it takes 8 hours or so, and they mean it. Could have shaved a couple hours with prep work and more room, but it's definitely a long job. No friends made along the way.

Works better than I expected.
Don't rush it; careful construction is rewarded with a pretty nice little model that works as advertised. It's easy to see how not being diligent could cause some misalignments that might mess with the performance though, so I wouldn't recommend this for children or the impatient. It's sturdier than you'd think, but it is made of flimsy plywood, so don't expect it to be indestructible.

This will take longer than you think.
I originally bought this to build with my grandson, but this puzzle is definitely not for younger kids (or adults) with a short attention span. He will no doubt enjoy playing with it so not a total loss. The engineering and manufacturing behind the Marble Night City is absolutely amazing. 250 + pieces that are very precisely laser cut on the parts boards. The instructions are pretty clear and the illustrations are amazing although I found some of the instructions to be a little confusing (not great English). Take your time, and pay close attention to the illustrations. They also have a couple of videos that were very helpful with the trickier assemblies. You can carefully press the pieces out of the part boards but I highly recommend you score all the tabs with a razor knife which will keep the parts from splintering. Also, itโs really important to sand all the remaining attachment tabs off the pieces so they fit together better. I wore cloth gloves to handle the acrylic pieces which kept my fingerprints from messing up the pieces, but that might be overkill. There are many pieces that are very fragile so be careful and have a bottle of CA glue handy should you break a piece or two. The kit comes with spare parts but they werenโt the ones I broke (of course). The puzzle is really fun to watch in action as well as build. You will be memorized for hours watching the little metal balls travel randomly around the various channels. One thing I wish the designers had done is make it easier to extract the balls when youโre finished playing with the maze. They have a โstorage spaceโ but I find it easier to store the marbles in an old plastic container. Have fun!

WE LOVED BUILDING THIS PUZZLE AND THE RESULT IS SO FUN TO PLAY WITH
I seriously underestimated the complexity of building this puzzle, and throughout the process I was concerned that it would not work because it is quite delicate and I even though we enjoyed the build, was sure we made a mistake somewhere. BUT it runs beautifully! It is fun to build after you get the hang of following the instructions to minute detail, and SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY WITH. Children and adults can not stop turning that handle, it has a most enjoyable clicking sound when the marbles run and fall.

Disappointed..
I've had it with this maker, quality control is lacking severely.. It's a unique design, and would be awesome if not for it's short comings. First, the wood quality is terrible, and parts break easily. It takes so much pressure to fit the parts, they break before it can be done. I did finally get it put together, but it does not always work correctly. Some of the ramps sit so level, the bearings have a rough time getting to the destination. They do not supply enough bearings for the design. There is a section that captures 2 of the bearings until a third releases them. it runs out of balls before this can happen. The balls are a weird size, I have to order an assortment that includes the correct size to have enough. Eventually I might have all the bugs worked out, but we will have to see.. The last 2 puzzles from this company I have purchased I am not happy with..

Defective product
I bought this for a Christmas gift for my husband. He was so excited to do it. Unfortunately some of the pieces were not cut all the way through which made it very difficult to take out without breaking them. One of the panels with pieces in it was warped so when he did get it together the marbles wouldn't run through it. We have many of their puzzle products and never had problems to this extent. Very disappointing. It's a bummer, I really wanted to get the next marble run so he could connect them.

My 12 year old loved building this with his dad
I love how my son engaged in building this! He was thrilled with the final product and has been showing it off to anyone he can! The wood is fragile so it does require some care but if you have the patience to work the pieces out gently it comes together beautifully! Definitely recommend

Great fun assembling
More fun assembling than using, but a fun toy all around. Be very, very careful assembling, as pieces break easily. I found the use of a small pointy nosed pliers and a dab of superglue here and there very helpful. Be very careful to follow the assembly instructions!

Good assembly, takes a while to create, looks quite good at the end.
I really enjoyed building this, I was not too sure I would like it, wood pieces do not always fit as you would hope they would so you have to use quite a bit of glue but the end product looks quite good if you are patient and build it slowly, they are not that many pieces but it still takes quite a bit of time to assemble.
