My favorite Hourly History yet!
This was excellent, the best of the Hourly History books I've read and I've read many. It provided unique aspects of the subject's life. With the limits that come with a short book, the author combined both a panoramic overview, as well as important windows into Shakespeare's life. Outstanding!

Good overview of Shakespeare's life.
Hourly History, as always, delivers a extremely readable, enjoyable work. If you are looking for a deep understanding of the topic, you should review other works, but if you want a solid outline with pertinent facts this is for you.

The Mysterious Bard
This is an excellent bio of Shakespeare. We know next to nothing about him, and most academics spend five hundred pages pointing to lines and scenes from his works to indicate what may have happened in his life. To the contrary Hourly History has taken what scraps and tidbits we have concerning his life, put them together with the plays and sonnets and offers us as much as can be known about the Bard. The book’s straight forward-ness might even convince a high schooler to read a play or two.

A concise history
This was a good read that outlined the sparse facts of Shakespeare's life and times, and gives insight to the climate of his times. Shakespeare was an acute observer of humanity and an innovator. Well done and a quick informative read.

A decent read
I had low expectations for reading this book since it was free. But then It got better in better is it went along. The author does not address the controversy over who actually wrote Shakespeare's works. He does discuss The evidence of maturation of his works From the earliest ones to the last. That is evidence that a single person wrote the work Perhaps Both are true. Shakespeare would have had to have established himself before other writers could seek him out to be an outlet for their work.

Too expensive.
Overpriced for such a skinny book. I should have returned it. Not much information about him.

Curiosity increases to know about W S
Our curiosity increases as we turn pages to know more about William Shakespeare who placed a new world order in literature. Knowledge of ancient language, triumphs and tribulations that cast impression of inner feelings of man on his face becomes a drama to viewers, a poetry to readers and music to ears.

Easy Shakespeare without the grandeur
I very much like these short histories. This story about Shakespeare want overwhelming and delivered content in good, sharp pieces even a layperson can appreciate. The language was speaking and it's prose will appeal to a large audience as it was not pompous or required a high degree of literacy. I very much enjoyed it. It would have been interesting to delve into how Shakespeare learns to write. This is not a reflection on the author as they clearly state that party is his life is lost to history.
