Work very well with minimum size and weight. Clamps could be improved.
I bought this because I have three Lenovo netpads (two IdeaPads and one ThinkPad) with pretty poor built-in speakers. My main goal was to get enough volume so students in a class could hear the "buzzer" to end some timed practice quizzes. The original speakers were all but drowned out by the sound of the video projector sitting next to my netbooks. Frankly, I was a bit shocked by out loud these speakers are. Of course, they are powered from the USB port, so they have another stage of amplification beyond what is built into the netbooks. I mean, the buzzer is plenty loud enough even for a class of 40 or 50 students. Then I started to use the speakers for watching videos in my hotel room after class. (After all, I already had them with me.) The sound quality is certainly good enough for most movies and pretty darn good even for music. They don't have a lot of bass, but the mids and highs are quite clear. The best part is that the speakers lock together into a package the size of a large hot dog and bun. There's no batteries or separate power supply, so they are quite easy to carry in my laptop bag. It's insignificant additional weight. My only negative is that the clamps don't work very well on the thin displays of the netbooks. They just don't clamp at that level of thinness. On the other hand, the clamps also function as stands, so you can place them on a table and face them whichever way you choose. This is how I use them in class.

TLDR: At this price point, I can't imagine buying a better product for the job.
I've only been using these for about 2 days at this point, but so far they're fantastic for what I needed. I've been doing a lot of traveling lately as I'm moving and I like to listen to various talk shows while doing things and the dynamic volume of some of them makes it just about impossible to hear from anywhere farther away than a couple of feet from my very average laptop. In the evenings when I stream movies I would have the same problem with dialog. My first solution to this problem was an audio booster application, which does work (kind of), but costs $20 for the registered version, has poor reviews, and only had a 2 week trial. After much searching I was surprised to find that basically only that application exists for that purpose. Plus at the end of the day I was still stuck with my laptop speakers, which play straight up from the keyboard (as most do) and sound pretty terrible (also as most do). Enter these guys... They easily play twice as loud as my internal laptop speakers, sound dramatically better (they even manage to play a little bit of bass. Men speaking now sound like actual men speaking and not chipmunks, but of course don't expect them to replace your home theater), and actually do clip on to the top of my screen (a Dell E6410) albeit loosely. They're also ideally sized for me to be able to cart them around with the rest of my things without a lot of effort. Each speaker is about the size of a deck of cards. My only complaints with them so far are fairly slight... When I first got them I did what most people probably do and immediately tossed the instructions in the trash, plugged them, and attempted to clip them to the screen in a dimly lit room to watch some streaming before bed. The speakers are, in fact, mechanically left and right handed and cannot be attached in the opposite orientation (and therefore when they're clipped together, like you see in the primary photo, they won't clip on at all) so I fumbled around with them quite a bit before figuring it out... Not really a fault of the product per say as I'm sure the instructions I didn't read spell that out, but a little annoying that I can't keep them neatly clipped together as shown and just stick them on when I want. Another issue is that the connection on the 3.5mm jack doesn't seem that great. I have to twist it around to make a solid connection that doesn't produce crackles and static. This could be an issue with my laptop specifically, or only my speakers specifically, but I haven't noticed it with other things plugged in. And lastly, for a laptop, the cords are ridiculously long. I would vastly prefer the cords be about 1/2 the length and the volume control be placed immediately at the USB port and not half way down the cord requiring me to reel it in to adjust the volume, but I imagine not everyone is going to use these as I do so they had to make a middle ground somewhere. Overall, I'm delighted with my purchase and would buy these again. At this price point, I can't imagine buying a better product for the job.

Shhh Don't Shatter My Delusion!
What a great little set of speakers! I bought mine to add to an old computer that I only use for some programs that won’t load on my new Windows 10 PC. One is an accounting program that won’t copy over all the information to a new version and I don’t want to lose historic accounting. Oh and a game (I have myself convinced this is all about the accounting program- let’s not shatter that delusion!). Now onto the speakers: I read many of the reviews before I purchased these speakers. First of all these speakers are made to use apart or together. There is a slot where they fit together and once joined they stay put. (See the photo to get an idea of how they connect) The next issue I saw being talked about was not being able to clip onto a monitor or a lap top. The slots measure 1/4 inch and have the ability to spread to 9/16 or just over 1/2 inch (see image where you can see a 9 volt battery easily fits into the expanded slot. The sound was also in question in some of the reviews. I can tell you the sound isn’t bad. No they don’t sound like it is live or coming out of $200 speakers but if I would have guessed the sound quality is much above the $10.99 cost of these speakers. The speakers are USB powered and have one adjustable sound connection. I have added a photo for overall size too and of course there is virtually no weight. Amazon always has good selections, prices and speedy shipping. I hope this helps in your decision making.

I got the product and I tested it. At first, I thought there was no sound so I cranked the volume up. However, it appears the issue lies with the 3.5mm jack. I had to jiggle it a bit so that the sound will come out of the speakers. I normally experience this issue when the product is at the end of its lifecycle. However, for this speaker it happened immediately after I took it out of the box. Very disappointing.

Cheap quality, poorly made and dreadful sound. Available at a quarter of the price from U.K. based retailers. Not made clear in product description that vendor is based in US, hence over inflated price to cover import costs. Would return but shipping costs would be my responsibility and it’s just not worth the hassle. DO NOT BUY.

A mic would have been nice for meetings

These arrived on time. They are perfect for my laptop and better than I had before. The volume isn't as loud as I would have liked but still worth the money.
