This allows the tow vehicles brakes and suspension to work more efficiently, and helps forward facing lights point in the direction they were designed too. The sway control makes for a smooth ride. We did many desert miles with gusty winds and never had a sway issue. I must have ran the sway controller to tight because in the last 60 miles of a 3,500 mile trip, the trailer side mount broke. luckily the unit did not drag. The entire hitch was swapped out effortlessly through customer service.
