I got these to wear as I re-learn how to ice skate after not being on the ice for 20 years. As an older adult, my balance is not as good as it used to be and I am fearful of falling. My first day on the ice, I did fall - backwards - and caught myself with my hand behind my back. I was lucky not to break my wrist. I wore these wrist guards for the first time yesterday and they are just what I need to protect my wrist should this happen again.
