SkyBell Doorbell Camera Wedge Plate

Great addition to give a mounted Skybell, which would otherwise have a perpendicular placement to a front door walk up, additional view toward the street (or another angle).I purchased a Skybell at the same time I purchased this wedge and mounting both was easy. The holes in the wedge allow you to position it at nearly any angle, and the screws that are included w/ your Skybell are long enough to anchor the wedge and the mounting plate w/o requiring any extra hardware.

I purchased the SkyBell Wedge Plate because of the placement of my door bell is on a side wall rather then the door facing. It helps with the viewing angle and works perfectly in showing people approaching the door. I had a little bit of difficulty in getting the Skybell and the plate to line up, but that was my fault. Quality seems good. Don’t imagine it is going to be exposed to any extreme stress, but even if it was on a completely exposed front door I believe it would hold up. Easy installation and it makes the viewing angle of my camera a lot better for seeing people approach now that it covers my walkway. I would have given it 5 stars, but the fit is a little sloppy. Would be great if this thing somehow matched up with the doorbell a little better. It slides around a lot until you tighten the screws enough. Even after some fiddling it still doesn’t seem like it matches up perfectly. Maybe I am just a little OCD, but I feel like it has a gap on one side and not so much on the other, even after a lot of fiddling.

By rotating the wedge you can fine tune the Skybell alignment up/down or left/right - depending on how much you rotate the wedge. Works fine. I had been toying with the idea of making a wedge from a piece of wood - until I saw this product.

Worked very well

When the product works it is excellent. Picture is clear, picks up motion well, saves video for a few days at no charge and is a great product. But, after 11 months the number of errors I experienced has been way too high. Have lost the connection to the video service several times. Have lost connection to the internet for no reason several times. Latest adventure is the device won't accept an internet signal and hasn't worked for 3 days. I know the procedure to do a soft boot, hard boot, and a simple internet reset all too well from having had to do this so many times.Unfortunately the customer service for this product is lacking. They do responds but have never received a live person on the phone. If you send an email or leave a voice mail it takes days to get an answer. I wouldn't buy this product again. Great when it is working but haven't made it more than a few weeks without an issue.

This works exactly as advertised. Simply remove the wall mount if you already have it installed, place the wall mount onto this device with the center with the cup poking towards you and line up the holes and re-attach to the wall. It couldn't be easier and the result is awesome at giving you the extra little bit of viewing space you need.
