Logitech Z625 Powerful THX® Certified 2.1 Speaker System with Optical Input

Great build quality decent price and connection options with cables included. Other reviews are on the money. These are not meant to be played at low levels but are insane at higher levels.

I had a set of these for years and was very happy with them. The bass is rich and punchy and well balanced and the controls are great. After years of abuse I ruined the cable connections because I kept pushing against them with my foot while scooting a heavy recliner back, not realizing I was pushing directly against the cord connections. I'm honestly surprised they lasted that long considering what I was doing to them. My dogs would also use the subwoofer as a stand to look out the window. I'm not sure why but I replaced them with set of slightly cheaper speakers, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX set for $120, which many reviews assured me were great for the price and "punched above their weight." Neither was true. It's an understatement to say I was disappointed by them. The controls were awful and incapable of fine adjustment. The sound was muddy with no mids and the bass lacked that punch & definition that I loved in the Logitechs. After a couple months I got sick of them and decided to just eat the $120 and treat myself to another Logitech Z625 set. So worth it. I glued a 2x4 to the back of the subwoofer so that I won't damage them the way I did my last set. Great speakers. But my new favorite thing about them that I didn't even realize when I bought them is that they can play from the optical input and the 2.5mm stereo input simultaneously. This is huge for me because I have a personal desktop and a work desktop at the same desk and use a HDMI and peripheral switch to alternate between them. Previously I also needed an audio switch and I've already spent around $100 on switches having broken 3 of them because of their terrible plug designs. Not only will that not be a problem anymore, but I'll be able to hear my Zoom phone ring on my work PC even while using my personal PC. That's a big extra win for me and makes me like them even more than I did my last set.

I've been listening to this system for a little over one month. For MANY years I had used the Boston BA745 2.1 speaker system with my computers. It was a system Gateway supplied with their computers (yes, that was long ago in a computer galaxy far, far away). They finally reached the end: the sub woofer would cut out, the left speaker volume would cut in half, wires had to be jiggled, subwoofer kicked, etc. I researched for months to find replacements. I asked for recommendations on Facebook. I read review after review on the internet. I narrowed it down to either the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX system or the Logitech Z625 THX 2.1 system. I sent Klpisch a question via email...and I'm still waiting for an answer. After a week of waiting, I decided Klipsch didn't want my business, so I ordered the Logitech Z625 THX 2.1 system. I did not think any system would be notably better than the BA745 2.1 system. I couldn't have been more wrong! The first song I listened to on the Logitech Z625 THX 2.1 system was Paul Wilbur's "Worthy." Oh, wow! The bass this system puts out is stunning; I'm hearing low notes the previous speakers NEVER produced. I am hearing instruments on songs I had previously not heard. The improvement is beyond stunning. I have listened to a variety of musical styles and everything sounds amazing (keep in mind that speakers can only produce the quality of the original recording; a cheap recording and a lousy, imbalanced mix down in the studio cannot be overcome by any speaker system). The all around sound is outstanding. The bass has a deep, flowing, intensity instead of a cheap, thumping produced by low-quality, inefficient speakers. MId's and high's are very distinct; as mentioned, I'm hearing instruments - and vocal parts - not previously heard. Setup was extremely easy. Out of the box, the bass level was set slightly past 12:00 and I have not changed it (I thought I might have to turn it up, but it is excellent at the present setting). The volume can be turned up LOUD!! I haven't turned it up past 11:00, at that has been plenty (I usually have it about 9:00 or lower). I have no doubt this system would be very adequate for any sized room in a house. This system cost more than I had hoped to spend but compared to numerous other systems, this one is worth it. I highly recommend the Logitech Z625 THX 2.1 system to anyone shopping for computer speakers.

Now I’m not a total audiophile but I do like my quality and clean sound, I’ve put these to the test specially with bass and it always came out crystal clear! It’s easy to hookup even for extreme beginners and always recommend the optical over audio. As far as how loud it gets, zero complaints and I like loud

Here’s the thing. Everyone wants to claim they’re an audiophile and the best at reviewing every product they touch. I’m not going to do that. I’m just a random internet person who wants others to benefit from my experience so you can make a choice a bit easier. Let’s cut to the chase to avoid the giant wall of text.. If you’re coming off of cheap speakers, these are an excellent choice. If you already have a quality speaker set these probably aren’t worth a “side-grade”. Paired with the Bluetooth adapter from Logitech (others have noted that there are 3rd party cheaper ones) I’ve enjoyed this setup quite nicely. I haven’t experienced too many issues and setup was a breeze. Quirks with this system? DTS compatibility is low and was initially causing some electronic static noise to play when certain content was played. Turned that off in the OS if the device and have had no issues since. Higher frequencies are a little over-tuned, but that was mildly expected given the price point and only really hinders you if you have the ear for it and is adjustable through a system EQ pretty easily. Overall if you’re on the fence and aren’t looking to break the bank trying to hit some super high audiophile standard, it’s worth getting. Credentials? I’m just some tech nerd who’s worked in all types of industries. Don’t listen to me. 😂 But if it helps I was an A/V tech doing installs/live events for a national company for around 10 years. I do software/IT stuff now. Not sure why that matters but hey, if it helps, great. :)

Hooked it up and was blown away at how good the sound is! Now lets talk about the bass.......HOLY! Worth every penny and then some. It was a huge upgrade and for the price point i really duno how u could go wrong. The sound could fill a large room with no issue at all.

I decided to purchase these to replace a going on 20 yrs old Altec Lansing 2.1/5.1 system. The only reason I decided to replace these were because I wanted to utilize the optical EQ feature on my motherboard and the volume knob was starting to go out (not bad for a 20 yr old system and could probably be cleaned) My initial thoughts about this system were not good. I didn't try the 3.5mm jack yet but hooked it straight to optical. Upon initial hookup the tone was very flat and too bass heavy. Before blaming the speakers I decided to mess around with the EQ settings in my digital audio. Bingo! that is what it needed. I was able to tweak it to my liking. for music. After reading reviews, I will say that if you are running this through optical you MUST use an EQ of some sort. I can turn these up LOUD and not get distortion. Without tweaking them that was not the case about 80% volume rendered some distortion. Which I will mention is pretty ear bleeding anyhow. IDK why you'd ever do that. I have them in a fairly large room its about the size of a living room nd the sound fills the room with no problem. THX: The THX feature is something the Altec Lansing speakers never had (but you really wouldn't notice). The THX features on the Logitech are quite good. You can hear a lot more distinct and directional sound in games. Overall, they are very good for the price. If you are using this system for a desktop computer id say go for it. If you are using these as a media/movie/console gaming solution on a big screen, I'd say look elsewhere. Unless you are console gaming on a small TV or in a small room I'd go with a 5.1 system As for durability we will see. The construction of the satellites seems pretty solid and the cords and knobs are beefy. the sub seems a bit on the light side but the construction is good. just a big square box with an air port on the side.

This product was better than I expected...only problem it came with out an audio cable so I used my old cable...but no biggy...still 1002 % satisfied. Thanks

Las bocinas integradas de la mayoría de las televisiones por lo general suenan muy X. Aunque las bocinas internas de mi TV LG C1 suenan decentes agregando unas bocinas decentes o soundbar harán un mundo de diferencia. Comparto mi opinión acerca de estas bocinas para todo aquel que tenga pensado adquirirlas. Las bocinas vienen con un cable de auxiliar de 3.5mm para conectarlo a tu TV o PC y un cable óptico para conexiones a consolas que tengan esa entrada, TVs y PCs también con esa entrada. En el caso de mi TV estaré utilizando el cable óptico. En la TV lo único que necesité hacer fue cambiar la salida de audio de bocinas internas a las bocinas externas (las Logitech Z625) para que la TV arroje el audio a las bocinas. En la bocina frontal derecha viene la perilla para controlar el volumen de las bocinas, una segunda perilla para regular el nivel de bajos del subwoofer y un botón para apagar/encender las bocinas. NO tiene control remoto y por lo tanto para regular el volumen es necesario hacerlo con la perilla. Si utilizarás estas bocinas para tu PC este detalle no será molesto ya que la perilla estará al alcance de tu mano pero si las utilizarás con una TV tendrás que ajustar el volumen manualmente. No tiene salida HDMI para conectarlo a la TV y por lo tanto no es posible controlar el volumen con el control de la TV. Se puede utilizar un adaptador de Bluetooth y de esa forma si se puede controlar el volumen de manera remota, pero la calidad de audio disminuyó bastante al utilizar un adaptador Bluetooth y mejor prefiero enlazar las bocinas a mi tele por medio del cable óptico. Ambas bocinas frontales son pesadas para su tamaño y no fácilmente se podrán caer o mover. El subwoofer es enorme y bastante pesado jeje. En general el peso de las bocinas te dará una sensación de que adquiriste un producto de calidad. En cuanto a su desempeño pues…ahhh que puedo decir; ¡suenan fantásticas! A los amantes de las explosiones con bajos les encantará tener estas bocinas. Yo las tengo en mi cuarto de tamaño mediano posicionadas a un metro de retirado de las paredes cerca de una esquina. A pesar de que los bajos suenan fuertes e impresionantes, los sonidos agudos/altos suenan bastante claros y definidos. Para las películas suenan impresionantes así como para videojuegos. En mi PS5 suenan de maravilla con el sonido 3D para bocinas externas y llenan mi cuarto de sonido muy bien definido. En la mayoría de los casos tengo el nivel de volumen entre un 20-40% y el nivel de bajos al 50-60% y en mi caso esos niveles son más que suficientes. No suelo escuchar música en mi TV pero las pocas veces que lo he hecho en mi celular si tengo que ajustar un poco los niveles de sonido en la aplicación de Spotify para obtener resultados que me agraden. Ahora, decidí comprar estas bocinas en vez de un soundbar por 2 motivos: el primero es por la calidad de sonido que ofrece un soundbar dentro del rango de precio de estas bocinas. Segundo por la relación de costo calidad. Por 3 mil pesos no podrás conseguir un soundbar con la calidad de sonido que se compare al que tienen estas bocinas. Claro que un soundbar vendrá con un control remoto y con más opciones de conectividad pero prefiero mil veces la potencia y calidad de sonido que estas bocinas brindan. Recomiendo las bocinas para espacios pequeños a medianos y como una alternativa ampliamente superior a un soundbar de costo similar. The sound quality is great. The bass is great. There is a bass dial so you can turn the bass completely off if you dont like bass. Playing video games every time something happens with bass its like thunder going through my room. I used 40$ speakers for years thinking it makes no difference to not have a woofer and i was very wrong. The sound is just amazing with these speakers and they are a purchase you will not regret. The max volume is very loud and if you max the volume and bass its like as loud as a night club and your entire house shake. The bass dial has a medium setting where the dial clicks so you know its at the middle and its simple to set it there and is still pretty bassy but its nice. The sound is very crisp and clean as well.

Thanks amazon for prompt delivery, I ordered on 11th and got on 14th evening(Mishandling by courier XD) Okay, let me tell you this is best speakers I have listen to from long time, once I installed JBL basstube with edifier speakers and powerful amplifier, and now these speakers give better sound (THX Rocks) Don't get distracted by bad reviews, they dont know a word about speakers. THX and bass PROS: Bass 11/10 Treble 9/10 Looks 10/10 Feel 10/10 Build Quality 10/10 (heavy and beautiful) Connectivity 10/10 (Easy to install) Can easily disturb your neighbours XD CONS: Right satellite speaker wire is thicccc af Main connecting wire is thin af, logitech tried to do cost cutting at wrong place! BASS will invite your neighbours XD, try some good bass songs at 12 midnight LOL //Final Verdict// If you are thinking to buy some good quality speakers for long time under 10k then this is must buy, you wont regret! I got this for 7,499 rupees, Go ahead and buy this baby to enjoy music, movies and games(THX boosts a lot!) //Tricks and Tips// If you are using 3.5mm jack connection then connect to right satellite speaker aux port, IDK but sound quality improved like 10-15% LOL Place your subwoofer on floor and in corner of room for damn smooth bass //EDIT// After 15 days of usage My parents are not allowing to play anything on this beast (XD just kiddin) I am using only 10-15% volume knob and thats super loud and crisp Excellent bass and sound quality without any distortion or muffling People complaining of muffled sound is legit, but it is totally device based, my honor phone delivers not so powerful outout so it muffles sometimes, but with my ROG laptop output is excellent Bass may be low with normal 320kbps songs, so you can use equalisers, in my case I am using sonic studio In case of movies, equaliser plays a key role, as dialogues may not sound great or clear For gaming, THX plays thumping and crisp sound! I have not used more than 50% volume knob (Wrna pakka police aa jayegi LOL) // EDIT - 14/10/2020 Quality is crisp and detailed as day one but some minor problem such as left speaker kind of stops playing and have to manually check on backside of main unit - I will fix that but still its a small issue that you should know Quality is fresh as day one and enjoying FLAC/WAV with balanced equalizer. THANKS! AND BUY THIS BEAST without any hesitation, must buy with laptop or PC setup, Thanks logitech for this heavy bass setup! I will definitely buy Z906 in future!

After a month and a half the right speaker stopped working. I have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work. Still trying to get it serviced. Been waiting for days for the seller to contact me after I reached out. No response.
