My Kind of Perfect (A Trillium Bay Novel Book 3)

Love and Laughter - A Great Summer Read
Tracy Brogan is an author who can make me snort laugh and shed tears within the same paragraph, fall in love with a quaint island of 600 people, and pretty much grin through an entire book. With her quirky characters, sparkling dialogue, and heartwarming romance, she brings her fictional Northern Michigan island and its colorful citizens to life in this feel-good book - and series - that I am having so much fun reading.I really enjoyed Lilly's journey. I was ready for her to find herself and move forward to explore her own dreams rather than someone else's. It was immensely rewarding to watch her grow throughout the book, find her voice, her value, and stand up for what she wanted. What she deserved. I was cheering her on the entire way.As with older sisters Emily and Brooke, Lilly's story is filled with humor, self-reflection, strong but sometimes complex family bonds, and sigh-worthy, though often complicated, romance. The quirky citizens of the island - including Lilly's family - once again add an abundance of humor and heart to the story while the Hollywood film crew are a surprisingly fun addition, especially heartthrob Jayden who turned out to be totally different from what I expected. I also enjoyed the peek behind the scenes of a movie set through the eyes of Lilly, her firecracker of a grandmother, and her star-struck, teenage niece. And then there's sexy, laid-back Matt Eastman, a relatively new addition to the island, affectionately referred to as Yoga Matt by the locals and enthusiastically admired by single women of many ages, who turned out to be a much more complex guy than I anticipated. If you're looking for a fun, flirty, summer read that brims with humor, heart, family, and, just possibly, the perfect love for Lilly Callaghan, add My Kind of Perfect to your reading list. I laughed, cried, and smiled from beginning to end...which seems to be my normal progression with each Tracy Brogan book I read.If this is your introduction to Brogan's Trillium Bay series, don't miss out on Lilly's sisters' stories in the first two books: My Kind of You and My Kind of Forever!

Cute but full of fat-shaming
I really enjoyed the storyline but the constant use of the characters of Gloria and Tiny as comic relief based on their weight grew tiresome. It was used in her past stories but it just seemed over the top this time, particularly saying Gloria’s dress could double as a hot air balloon. Just poor taste. Do better.

A Perfect Light Summer Read – Sweet, Funny and Endearing
I am a huge fan of Tracy Brogan and have recommended her books to at least a half dozen friends of mine, all of whom LOVE them and can’t wait for the next one. My Kind of Perfect is the third book in the Trillium Bay series and continues the story of the Callaghan sisters, specifically the youngest sister Lilly. This book tells the story of Lilly’s return to her family, whom all live on Trillium Bay island, with hopes she can get her life back on track after a May to December romance with an older man who has ties to her sister. Lilly meets two very different men and has to decide where her heart will lead her. The characters are so wonderfully developed and they are people that you can relate to with all of their closeness, disfunction, and endearing self-deprecating humor. Absolutely love the Callaghan family and friends. This was another laugh-out-loud book and it very much kept me entertained throughout the entire read. Would definitely recommend it!

A disappointment
This is the third book in the series. The first came out in 2017 the second in 2019. The length of time between the books make it very difficult to really get into the series. As a stand lone this book is a failure. I did no like Lily at all! The relationship between her and Mat was very lackluster. I think this author needs to get her act together or give up writing.

I am now such a Tracy Brogan fan
I was in a quandary when I tripped over this book and the recap I read sounded like something that I would enjoy. The story was so readable. I fell in love with Trillion Bay and the quirky people who lived there. The story unfolded so organically, I sometimes found my self thinking the way they did and talking to them as well as laughing out loud over the circumstances the folks got themselves into. I will certainly be reading more of MS Brogan's stories. She is a fabulously entertaining writer and a wonderful story teller.

Disappointing end to the sisters’ stories
So, Lily was a flighty disappointment. And that made this last book of the Trillium Bay series also a disappointment.Obviously she wants to be in love. And she stirs whenever a guy looks at her.I did like the wacky townsfolk. The side characters. And Yoga Matt, although he’s certainly not as zen as he’d have you believe.

I enjoyed this book and the entire series!
I read the previous 2 books in this series and I definitely wanted to continue with this book. I am so happy to hear that there will be a book 4! (and maybe a book 5).Tracy Brogan is a fairly new-to-me author, and I am so happy to have found her books. Her characters are life-like and I care about them. The plot is developed so well and flows easily. Her settings are fantastic, and I feel transported into the story rather then just reading.I enjoyed this book and the entire series and I look forward to the future adventures that are set on Trillium Bay.

An easy read
It's a fairy tale plot. It's one of those tales that's just, nice.A book to read whilst sitting in a comfy chair, with your glass of preferred beverage, in the garden on a warm sunny day. Or not. Maybe it's a miserably cold day, and you're all snuggled up on the sofa, with a roaring fire (or some form of heating) annihilating the chill, making the room cosy and warm.Ah, yes. Lovely. And I'm all in, for reading something that doesn't strain the brain.

The trillium bay book series was really fun. Interesting plot line with actors coming to the island to make a film., and the locals being extras. Envy Lily with all the hunky guys after her. All loose ends tied up, brilliant.
