TREELFKalimba 21 Keys Replacement Kit Thumb piano DIY accessories set (21 keys)

I used these to replace Hluru tines on their 21 key Walnut/Maple Box Kalimba. They work so much better, allowing my thumb to easily glide across the top when doing chords. With the crosshatch etched on the back of the tines, as well as the thin shape, polish, sound and long resonance time, I am left thinking these are the same tines Ling Ting uses on their 21 key Kalimba. There are no note or number markings on the front so you can key them how you desire and label them accordingly. If you need to replace tines on a kalimba, or build your own kalimba, I highly recommend these. They are most definitely professional grade.

I ordered this even though it had no reviews at the time, because there were only three of them that I even saw on amazon that were the 21-key version, and this one didn't have to ship all the way from China. I needed this to finish a 42-key "double layer" Kalimba I'm making. This will be the second set of 21 keys to make the top layer. It arrived very quickly, and actually came with more than was pictured. It came with:-21 tines-A "Z" bracket designed for the 21 tines-6 screws to hold down the "Z" bracket-A wooden top bar (the proper length for the 21 keys)-A wooden "bridge" with groove (the proper length for the 21 keys)-A metal bar/bridge to fit in the grooved wood (the proper length for the 21 keys)-A tuning hammer-2 thumb protectors-A cleaning clothThe tines are unmarked, as pictured. Which I was happy about, since I will be tuning this set to sharps and flats, and any engraved notes would not have matched up anyway. If you want to easily be able to tell what notes they are, you'll have to mark them yourself (I suggest using nail polish with a small brush).My only complaint would be that one of the tines was bent the wrong way. So, instead of having a slight dipping curve when in the upright position, it has a slight arching curve. However, they are somewhat flexible, and I have been able to bend them with pliers. I ended up doing this with all of them, to give them a more upturned shape for ease of playing. Whatever suits your needs. Even without bending them, they will mostly conform once in place with the Z bar and wood pieces, and should work fine.They also sound really pretty good; even the highest tines seem to sustain better than on any of the other 17 or 21 key kalimbas I've had in the past. Though some are still a little tight. This seems to be pretty much unavoidable. Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase. If I make more kalimbas in the future, I will purchase these again.The tines and hardware from this set are shown in the pictures. On the assembled kalimba, they are the top set.

Everything ok, but some tines were magnetic.

The media could not be loaded.  These are quality brand name tines sold by Treelf and found on a few of their current kalimba. Many players should recognize them as originally found on and created for another well known respected brand. Shown is the 17 and 21 tines sets. Are unmarked. Smooth edges with gently sloping and rounded tips for comfort. Grid lines on the back which helps to secure the tine positioning. These are likely the best replacement tines for most standard kalimba. Suggest replacing tines and the metal hardware to be sure that the tines are fitting in to the z-bracket properly. For those building their own kalimba, this set has every piece needed. These superior tines will complement the possible sound capabilities of the wood or acrylic body.Each boxed package contains a bonus hammer, wiping cloth and thumb protectors. A really good value and can't think of a complete replacement set that could offer better.
