Very accurate and functions like no other.
Before ordering, either have 5 people handy or order the rolling stand. Once in place it's not going anywhere. Always good to be able to move this if needed.

Amazing.
2nd one I have purchased. Worth the extra dollars for the safety but also for the quality. Watch the manufacturers videos. Amazing.

Overall a great saw
Pros: Very heavy machine and has the awesome safety feature. Delivery went smoothly and the machine looks very nice in my shop. Plenty of power for any job. Cons: Saw was out of alignment by more then 7 thou to the miter slots. Saw vibrates while running and has a resonant vibration that rattles the machine during coast down. Table legs are poorly designed and holes do not line up well. I was shorted one washer and provided with two extra bolts. The wings were warped - distorion likely caused by grinding process. I was able to tighten the forward bolts and then force the wings to lay relatively flat by tightening the middle bolt followed by the end bolt and applying pressure. Overall it is about what i expected. Very nice machine overall but it is fairly obvious that it is made in asia with lacking quality control in some areas.

The cabinet shop I work in got one and ran grate for two years then it started the brake in the saw go's off for no reason . So we talked to sawstop and sent 3 brakes in . Then I replace 400.00 in part and then 1 day later it did it again. And now the saw sits . The owners will not get any more brakes for the was . Over 5000.00 for that just sits.

Clearly a winner......
This saw is so well designed and manufactured it's very hard to remember it's an Asian import. Sawstop clearly did their work in getting a quality product built. Exceptionally smooth, understandable given it's weight (600#) and with a 5 HP motor there is absolutely no lack of power. But assembly is very easy, and at least in my case there were absolutely no alignment problems to work out. Once I had the fence rail on and the fence aligned (all of a 15 minute job) everything was spot on. One little quirk that came up: once I finally had the saw set up and was ready for the magical "power on" moment, nothing happened. After only a few seconds of panic, I went through the steps and manual again to to check everything out, still no go. Then I noticed that the main power switch (a disconnect built into the saw) was correctly positioned (switch in a vertical position) and flipped it the other way. Once again I tried to start it up; this time it worked. My switch needs to be in the horizontal position. I guess that disconnect switch orientation was changed but the manual not updated. Oh, well! I then went through the motions of changing the saw over to a dado blade from a regular saw blade. While reaching the cartridge through the insert opening is a little cramped, it's actually not bad at all. It probably takes an extra 5 minutes or so to change back and forth between cartridges as opposed to a saw without the safety circuity. The fence is as smooth as any I've ever used (2 table saws before this one) and easily moved back and forth. I also bought the SS mobile base for this saw. With a hydraulic lift system it's is beyond what you normally see in a mobile base. It works as smoothly as everything else on the saw. If I had to find fault with anything, it would be the puny 4" DC connection they installed on the cabinet. The dust collection would be significantly improved if that was a 5", or maybe 6" hookup. That would also require a considerable DC to power it, and most tools today come with only 4" ports. For what little I've used the saw so far it seems to work OK, but I still think it would be better with a larger port.

10 Years In...
I bought my SawStop 5HP ICS in 2010. It's been a fantastic tool, more accurate than the y2k General 650 it replaced. In ten years, I've had one firing, a dado cart, and it was legit. My hand buzzed the blade. I've been working wood since 1996, and this saw is the most accurate and easy to service as any of my three previous saws, and has the backstop of SawStop technology. My methods haven't changed, I don't take safety less seriously, it's still a spinning blade or dado set deserving your full respect. As a musician and pilot, I appreciate the extra "eyes" this machine offers, as both of my pursuits might be lost if I suffer an amputation. Even in a minor incident, the cost of a cart and blade are less than an emergency room copay. I fly airplanes and race cars, safety conciousness allows me to keep on keeping on. In closing, the assembly manual and small parts / fastener packaging are the best I've seen anywhere. I've cut plenty of wet and pressure treated material, the bypass works as intended and the saw works as any other saw, minus the safety feature. If you can swing it, buy it. Hopefully, like insurance, you'll never need it. It will be there on during that one moment of brain fade, and that's priceless.

Wouldn’t have any other.
I purchased the first industrial 3hp 1phase model, CB31230, years ago as a Christmas present for myself. I made all the checks and tuning when first installed and replaced one T-fence face and a latch under warranty. I called customer service and had the parts the next day. I highly recommend the mobile base for any small shop; it helps during cleanup. The alignment method is brilliant and makes you wonder why others never figured this out. I’ve seen other saws and feel they have rested on their designs far too long. Don’t misunderstand, many of my machines are 30’s, 40’s vintage; and this saw has the good of the old iron with the smarts of this century.
