May contain trace amounts of fish. Free Of: Preservatives, sodium, yeast, dairy, artificial colors and flavors." So I am guessing that they can't guarantee 100% vegan, assuming the reference to, "trace amounts of fish". But kyolic.com does not mention that although nothing on the packaging states vegan or vegetarian.

GMP certified. Have been taking for years. Have IBS. Product is acid resistant. Probiotics are a complicated issue. I have much research on the varying types. A lot is not scientically proven. See Tufts health and Nutrition Letter April 2014, p 6.

How is this product different than Kyo-dophilus 9?

I can only tell you that the exact ingredients of the Kyolic Dophiius digestion and immune was studied by Duke University and shown to decrease the incidence/severity of acute rhino sinusitis. I have a husband who has had a life long problem with the "boggy nose" thing, and this supplement has helped decrease his symptoms. It took about a bout a month of use before the improvement was noted.

I got to a point where everything seemed to upset my stomach. I couldn't eat rice, beans, dairy – everything I ate seemed to give me weird stools, bad gas, bloating, and even palpitations. I actually read about this specific probiotic in a nutrition book, it was highly recommended for leaky gut and other digestive issues. For the life of me I cannot remember the book and it's currently packed away in a box in a storage unit – but once I unpack it I'll try to remember to update this review to give the name of the book. Anyway, I had been on probiotics before, different brands/types. None of them seemed to help as much as this one did. I tried 2 pills (which is a full dose) at first and it upset my stomach. I went to 1 pill (half dose) and it didn't upset my stomach. I did 1 pill for maybe 3-4 weeks. Then moved back to 2 pills and I was able to handle it better. This was probably 8 months ago and I have been on 2 pills ever since without issues. I can now eat things like rice, beans, and dairy without my stomach getting upset! I highly recommend this product and if you take it and it upsets your stomach, try a half dose for a while and then move back into a full dose.
