The kids are very rambunctious and these are holding up great. Non of them have broken yet. I am not sure about the age range though. I feel you should go by the weight because they are hard to push down if the child does not weight enough. One of my nephews (8i) had a little trouble and he doesn’t weight but 42 pounds.
