This is a great hat light for night fishing. Esp having the green light option, white light draws too many bugs at night fishing. The only drawback is these lights are brighter than the original, brighter means more bugs, and the old one, the leds were not as bright, which was helpful for fishing. It def been improved and the hinge allows good adjustment and a hands free approach to whatever ur working on. The only reason i had to upgrade was the hinge broke on the previous model after many years of use. Great design. Love the battery option as the battery dies, it may get a little dimmer for night fishing .

The light itself takes some getting use to it's a bright wide angle not directional so your field of view is different but good. It's about the equivalent of walking around at dawn or dusk, you can see more of your surroundings but no absolute definition. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is the light refracts off the bottom part of the lens and makes it difficult to see beyond the light. I ended using black electrical tape and an exacto knife to cover that part up and it made a big difference. Over all the light works well other than the bottom part of lens needs to be reengineered.

I love the old browning lights so I bought this one but very disappointed. You turn it on and it looks bright but it isn't. For close up work I mean very close up work it's your light. I work under houses feeding cattle and it is so dim I can't see 6 ft in front of me.

Was a gift. it was what was wanted.
