Why did I wait so long to get this?!
After receiving the Motor Luxe tire pressure gauge, measuring tire pressure actually became kind of fun, in contrast to the chore that it used to be when using my old pencil-style gauge with the measuring stick that pops out. This additional incentive to use the gauge is important because I have previously tended to slack off in regularly measuring tire pressure. This means that I’ve not been consistently adjusting tire pressure to the optimum level to save on gas and avoid uneven tire wear.Of course, with the pencil gauge, it is often hard to get a precise read of tire pressure in the first place. If that gauge is not fitted onto the tire valve just right, air leaks from the valve and the reading will be off. And each time it’s a one-shot deal: if the fit was not right from the get go, the pressure has to be measured anew; it’s not as if one can adjust the fit of the gauge to the tire valve in the process of measuring so that one can take a reading once the fit becomes just right. Consequently, the pencil gauge that I have tends to render measuring tire pressure a bit of guesswork. This was just not good enough in light of a recent incident requiring precise measurement of tire pressure. I had discovered that a metal wire became stuck to one of my car’s rear tires. The wire did not go in deeply, so my dealer’s service department advised that for now it’s best to just closely monitor tire pressure for several weeks. They also advised that, in comparing pressure, I should first ensure equal pressure in the two rear tires and then note any discrepancies in their pressure over time. It occurred to me then that a better gauge is in order, as my pencil gauge will not be precise enough to be useful in following the dealer’s recommendation.A little online research led me to the Motor Luxe model, and it should serve me well overall. It has some excellent design features, including• the bleeder/reset button (more on that below),• the rotating chuck (to allow easier fit onto the tire valve) and gauge head (to allow easier maneuvering of the device),• the glow-in-the-dark dial,• the fact that the needle stays fixed in position after taking a reading (more on that below), and• the protective rubber outer layer. The appearance of the device is also quite attractive. As mentioned above, it usually will take a little fiddling to ensure that the chuck achieves a good seal against the tire valve, and a pencil gauge might require multiple tries and some guessing as to whether the proper seal has been obtained to get an approximate pressure reading. In contrast, the Motor Luxe gauge will always measure, in one go, the highest (i.e. correct) pressure reached when I plug the chuck onto the tire's valve stem and fiddle a bit to achieve the proper seal – there is no need for multiple tries. Also, the Motor Luxe gauge will keep the tire pressure reading until the bleeder/reset button on the neck of the gauge is pressed, so that one can either read the gauge while it is connected to the tire or detach the gauge and still read the pressure. This flexibility is very useful. For example, once this gauge is properly fitted onto the tire valve, and one finds that the pressure in the tire is too high, he can keep the gauge connected to the tire and simply use the reset/bleeder button to release air – in increments, if necessary - from the tire until the needle points to the desired pressure. There is no need to go through the trial and error process of disconnecting the gauge, releasing some air from the tire, and then re-measuring the tire pressure – another aspect of the Motor Luxe gauge that makes it much easier and more fun to use than the pencil gauge. Thanks to the Motor Luxe gauge, I am able to precisely monitor and compare the pressure in the two rear tires of my car as recommended by my dealer. I also expect to measure pressure in all my tires more frequently, as it is such a breeze to use this gauge.Since the above review is based on initial usage, I intend to update this review if any issues come up during longer-term use of this product. Finally, I should mention that the seller (Helix Retail) provides excellent customer service in my experience. I had a few questions on the product and each time Susie at their end addressed my queries very promptly, courteously and helpfully. I really cannot ask for a better shopping experience on Amazon than the one that I just had with this seller.

Great tire gauge
Great tire gauge, accurate, easy to use, & well made. The button to release tire air makes it a lot easier to use then pencil style air gauges. It is also easier to read the air pressure settings then pencil gauges. The thick rubber cover provides protection for the gauge during use and makes it easy to gripe. Tire pressure is important to get the most wear, the best performance, and best gas millage from your car or motorcycle. I highly recommend this Motor Luxe Tire Pressure gauge. ++++ I have to mention that Harbor Freight has a very similar gauge for $6.99. It may not be as durable but if you want to try a cheaper one try HF.

It's OK
Seems to be fairly well built, accuracy will be determined as I use it. So far, it has met my expectations. I had a similar type gauge that I really liked that I gave to my son in law. The hose it had on it was was a braided line that seemed like it would hold up well over time. The hose on this gauge is rubber that I believe over time will degrade and fall apart, that is the reason I give it only four stars. Regarding the four free valve caps that come with the gauge, they have to be worth at least a few cents total, nothing special, hardly worth including in my opinion.

The Gauge passes muster.
I tested this on my 2011 Harley Ultra Limited. This bike is tough to access the valve stems due to the double rotors in the front and the saddle bag and rotor in the rear. The Motor Luxe Tire Pressure Gauge was the perfect tool for the job. I compared its reading to two other gauges I had and they were all right on.When you hold it you know that its a quality gauge right away. I was able to feed the gauge through the rotors and with the way they angled the chuck at the end of the gauge made it perfect to get a tight seal on the stem and get an accurate reading. I'm happy that the gauge holds the reading until you press the release valve. I had a hard time adding air to the tires as they were low. When I re tested the pressure it was too high. I was able to precisely deflate the pressure through the gauge to get the exact pressure I needed. I thought that was a great feature and saves time. It earned its place in my tool box, two thumbs up

Fell apart
I’ve had this pressure gauge for about 6 months. Used it a few times and today when I was checking pressures the stem detached. I screwed it back on but, after resetting it tried to do a pressure check and it wouldn’t record any pressure. It “looked” like it was well made but evidently not. It’s outside the return date so I’m SOL.

This is an air pressure gauge that is easy to use and read
This is an air pressure gauge that is easy to use and read. It does not require charging. I received an excellent note from the seller stating…………“We appreciate your choice, and will do everything in our power to ensure your full satisfaction with the product quality and customer service! In the mean time here are some tips to get the most out of your new Tire Pressure Gauge:• The gauge will keep the tire pressure reading until you press the handy reset button on the neck of the product, so you can detach the gauge and still read the pressure.• You can also easily bleed off excess pressure by holding down the same button, while it is attached to the tire valve.• The dial glows in the dark, and requires no batteries, so is usable in all weather. We've included 4 FREE bonus valve caps as a thank you for being our customer!

Great product
I love this tire pressure gauge! You have a huge display to see exactly what you're pressure is, I imagine it would be big enough for anyone to read. You also have a nifty little button on the side where you can let air out without having to take the end off the tire valve, and as soon as you let go of the butting it shoots back up to give you the current reading.I use this as I air down and re fill my jeep tires for on and off road use. Seems very accurate down to 14psi at least, and it's worked for me all the way up to 60 psi on trailer tires.Feels very strongly made and after about 3 months it still looks and feels like new.
