We shopped at the open markets where olives were one of the specialty items. Returning to the USA, we satisfied our taste for kalamata olives and feta cheese by shopping at an authentic Greek market, which was an hour’s drive away. We know olives well. I now buy Attica Kalamatas and have them shipped to our home on Eleuthera, a far out island in the Bahamas. The effort and cost is well worth it! Attica Kalamatas are consistently as good as the best Kalamatas we’ve ever tasted. They have been consistently delicious until the ones that I bought in March 2021. I paid more for these than I usually do because it said that it was 7lbs. But that was with the liquid. It was the same 4.3 lbs as the others. So I got less olives than expected. Then once I opened them there was a large amount of olive oil floating on top of the olives. It made the olives hard to get to and slimy once I retrieved them.
