Thank you** A: I guess it's down to personal preference and how likely the wheels are going to come into regular contact with high kerbs. I have these fitted to 2 Citroen DS3 models both with diamond cut wheels, Bellero and Aphrodite styles. The vehicles are Driving School cars so inevitably come into regular contact with the kerb. This can be a very costly repair as diamond cut wheels can generally only be refurbished once. After that it's new wheels and much £££££ So for me these are a matter of necessity and to date haven't caused any real issue. What I have noticed is that due to the way they have to be fitted on the rim it leaves a small gap between the wheel rim and the Gator itself allowing water to get in between them. This wasn't really an issue for the first year however it became evident that road salt had managed to get into the narrow gap and the alloy lacquer had started to show signs of salt ingress. This isn't major but noticeable on a relatively new car. Having said all that I still much prefer to have the Gators on the wheels as the damage is much less than even one light scrub on a high kerb. For me they are worth the risk of slight salt corrosion over missing chunks of allow. If possible try to blast the rims out with a high pressure hose every now and again to minimise any corrosive damage. **Q: What do you recommend for diamond cut wheels ?** A: I would say yes, they do the best job of protecting rims. But they do wear out eventually, especially on the front nearside, I usually replace that one once a year as they are nylon based and that one takes the most hits. Plus it also depends on your driving and parking. The box will comes with a test strip which will indicate if they will fit, or not but ive had none where they wont fit. Also the instructions say leave the wheel on, but I would take each wheel off when fitting, place on a flat surface and on piece of carpet to protect the inside so you can give it a 'good whack' with the rubber mallet to get them on. Another thing- when you come to joining the rim protector cut it 3 mm shorter than it looks with garden secateurs because it always ends up longer when in place and if you have super glued it, as per instructions, its a bugger to undo. There is a cover for the join so its better to be slightly short with a gap. After the first one it gets a lot easier. I consequently requested the contact details for an expert travelling Alloygator fitter to come to do all three cars at my home, but although I e-mailed the suggested fitter twice I received no reply. So all three sets remain unfitted.
