Works great and easy to use

There were other problems with my old garlic press, but the worst one was cleaning it. Unlike this one, the "basket" wasn't removable. I didn't know they made them with removable baskets. I think that it's probably a pain to clean a garlic press if you don't do it immediately anyways, but this little thing made it so much less annoying.I think it's very attractive. I love the metal and the handle. I think the weight and feel of it is very nice. It's a nice tool.I also like that it's legitimately dishwasher safe. I get all the garlic off before I put it in the dishwasher, because... Otherwise, it doesn't go anywhere or dissolve, and you're left with weird, stuck on (but clean!) garlic remnants. It might even be stupid that I bother running it through the dishwasher at that point, now that I think of it as I write this. But whatever! LOL. It's dishwasher safe! My old garlic press also had a coating that progressively wore off after a couple years of being thrown into the dishwasher too. But this doesn't have that.You want to press garlic? Get a good garlic press, why not? This'll do you.

It works as expected. The quality of the item feels good. There are 2 pieces to the item: the whole handle thing and a tiny basket where you press the garlic. The basket is removable for washing. It says we don't need to peel the garlic, and I tried that but would not recommend it. One, the peel gets broken and becomes hard to remove from the mashed garlic, and second, it will cover the tiny holes so the mashed garlic will not pass through.

Made of quality material, heavy duty but still light weight. Mincing several cloves of garlic since I received the press now takes only seconds. Previously I would take minutes to mince the same number of cloves and still they were not as fine as using the garlic press.

It is very stylish looking, I’ll give it that, but it wastes part of every clove. The little removable basket that makes it so easy to clean takes up too much room to fit a whole fat clove of garlic, plus it slides around and ends up blocking it up. Then the garlic escapes through the sides, but I can deal with that. I just don’t like wasting so much of the garlic each time I use it. It does mince some of each clove well, it is easy to clean, and it is very hefty in my hand and appears to be well made, just with a design flaw with the basket.

Heavy, attractive and useful. Works in dishwasher. Happy.

My girl-friend hasn't worn it out yet !!! That is saying a lot since all the use it gets. It's easy to take apart for cleaning after use. Well made.
