Handloader Magazine

Most shooters learn to reload by rote. They know the mechanics, but don’t understand the subtleties involved in creating your own ammunition. Most gun and shooting magazines, if they have anything about reloading, limit it to a single monthly column. This magazine fills what is clearly a major gap in coverage. They’ve done so for 50 years, with clear writing and expertise. They are the go to source four older cartridges, unusual guns, wild cat designs and popular standards. I read this journal cover to cover and save it as a reference.

I waited for a couple issues before reviewing the magazine. The magazine is full of great information. The loading and preparation info is useful land well explained. Although there is some upper level discussions of the physics of ballistics is there it is so well written it is easy to understand. Additionally, even the advertisements are interesting with many I have never heard of before. From common calibers to the more exotic all topics are well written. I recommend this magazine to every reloaded; from beginner to long time reloaded.

Took forever to start the subcription but that is what it is. They always say 8 weeks and they mean it. Love the look and feel of this magazine. It is definitely quality. I see what folks are saying. It does seem to be going a little main stream. Not as technical as some would like it to be. But the do cover what's popular and what's old. It could be a great reference. It's a good read for reloaders.
