Ryan Hall Combo Pack - Back Attacks & The Deep Half Guard

I'm slowly building up my collection of Ryan Hall DVDs. They're all excellent, in my opinion.If you're unfamiliar with his approach to teaching, he tends to focus on how things work, and why they go wrong, rather than a series of unrelated (or even related) techniques. The idea is to build up an understanding of the underlying principles, rather than simply memorising how to do something.I don't think it matters which order you buy his DVDs in - they are all good value. That might seem strange given that they are not cheap; however, there are several hours worth of teaching on each, so they represent a significant amount of time if you study them properly.I have a number of other instructional DVDs by different people, but I would rate the Ryan Hall ones the best overall.

By far the most time i have spent on all the training cd's i own.I have had 2 elbow surgeries in the last year and a half, and the back attack series is perfect for my training at home until i return.It shows many options for transitionsto take the back - traditional upper body (over-under) and also rolling back attacks (using your legs which is perfect for recovering arm injuries). Deep half dvd transitions great into the back attack series.Depending on your style, you may not use everything, but it is great to know additional options in case you are up against a brick wall and need to show something unexpected on your opt you typically wouldn't use.This dvd series definitely has gotten me to think outside of the box to build my own style.

The back attacks videos are great. Helped a lot with the small details. The deep half is a bit outside of my comfort zone and feels a bit advanced for me I’ll give it another try when I feel ready

Ryan's DVD's are the best instructional hands down.Ryan not only shows the techniques in great detail, he explains the philosophy when and why the techniques work, commons pitfalls, and what to go to when things don't go as planned. Can not recommend these tapes enough, you will find new pearls of wisdom every time you watch them, no matter what belt level you are....

These are great instructional DVD's. Ryan Hall is an amazing teacher. His break down and detail are impeccable. Hands down he is one of the best instructors out there!! Thanks Ryan.

Excellent instructions from Ryan Hall. Most instructional DVDs show you the final stage of a submission but misses theimportant steps on how to get there. Not so with Ryan's DVD. He's a good teacher.

Awesome DVD's Ryan Hall does it again. He shares his incite and has a great way of explaining the ideas behind each move. I am looking forward to his next DVD.

Very detailed and theory based technique. Stuff that will last a lifetime. I'd recommend it to my friends and training partners.
