I purchased this winch in order to assist me with various projects In my shop and with instillations for my clients. I recently had a project that required a dead hang lift of three cedar beams with a combined weight of 425 pounds and used the WARN 885000 winch to lift them 12' in the air, no problem for this winch. I did take it slow and didn't press the up button all the way (the one time I tried to speed it up it stopped, waited 10 seconds and it was lifting again, slow and steady wins the race. I like how the winch was constructed and the internal lifting cable was nice and stout. I gave it a 5 star rating, but wished this winch had a remote or even a corded controller so that I could be on the ground when lifting objects when applicable. Would also like to see WARN develop a battery powered winch at that size as well.
