I used this with my double hammock on a backpacking trip. We camped at 11,500 feet in Colorado in September. Using this quilt, a backpacking pillow and my 0-degree bag, plus a rain fly overhead, I was hot and left my bag unzipped to my waist all night. We went to bed around 40 degrees at 8pm or so, and temps got to about 32 overnight. I was surprised how warm this kept me. It is not the lightest/smallest thing to backpack with. A Bivy and sleeping pad would be less than the full hammock setup, but for me, I sleep through the night in my hammock and it never goes flat - good sleep is worth an extra pound.

For around $30 you get what you would expect from this underquilt (UQ). It weighs in at 889g and comes with it's own stuff sack/compression bag (Only complaint about that is the straps constantly come out of the buckles when not compressed but minor annoyance). The UQ is light weight and the stitching looks pretty good. I like the fact if your shock cord stretches or beaks you can replace it unlike other cheap UQ like Wise Owl that are sewn into it. It covers my 11ft gathered end hammock pretty well and covers an entire Wise owl or Eno hammocks. Performance-wise it is rated for 41f-68F. I took it out on a night that only went down to 52F and I will say you are not going to be using this down to 41F, and if you are it isn't going to be a comfortable night. I paired this with a light blanket and woke up a couple times during the night a little chilled. Perhaps with a better top quilt I would have been more comfortable, but this is still a cheap UQ and not a quality down or anything like that. The clips are kinda crappy but you can just swap out some nicer carabiner and you're all set. Pros: Cheap Feels fairly durable Easy to attach and detach Cons: Not very warm Cheap hardware Overall if you just want an UQ to keep from getting chilly if the temp drops into the 60s overnight, this is a fine choice if you don't want to break the bank. Just keep your expectations in check.
