The Complete Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tales Paperback – 1 Jan. 1997

This was a great price for the complete collection and I'm pleased I have now familiarized myself with this famous writer. They are certainly different to the happy endings of modern fairy tales, but that just makes them all the better. The storytelling and world-building is of the highest standard.

It was nice to read so many stories from my childhood & some that I had never heard of. I also got Danny Kaye sings ... on CD.Things like, the Little Match girl, Inchworm, The Ugly Duckling, etc

This is just brilliant!I love it so much some of the stories are hard to keep track of but it's a great read and I throughly enjoy this book

This is a good book with many stories but I found the print to be very small, especially as I was reading to my daughter before she went to bed, I found my eyes became tired and I too ended up falling asleep. Hey if you can handle small print its worth the cost.

I bought this for my Kindle as I was due to travel to Copenhagen and wanted to recall the fairystories which delighted me a child. There are tales here which I had completely forgotten about, making me feel quite nostalgic.

I bought this to read and then share with my daughter when she's big enough. This sits with Peter Pan as one of the books I really wish I'd read years ago. Witty, inciteful, thought provoking stories rather than the school assembly morality of Aesop.

Its an old book and comes with character. The description was very honest so I knew what to expect. Its old but it isn't damaged. It arrived before its due date.

How often do we hear the wisdom from his stories that were meant for children. The Emperor's New Clothes is one example that applies very much to today with the PR machine doing overtime. Who dares tell the truth?
