First, I was hoping but not expecting the box to be wood or metal like they kind of look like in the picture. Alas, they are cool but are just paper. Second, the actual cakes are very small in the three cake sets. About the size of a couple of moon pies stacked. Third, they are crazy good. Moist, fresh, and delicious. The apple one is my favorite, but I liked all three. A little pricey but a good once in a while treat for the simulated exotic experience.

I have bought these many times and each one is just wonderful. I have sent these as gifts and others like them as well. You will not be disappointed. They are fresh and the size is perfect.

So I purchased these cakes for a good friend of mine's birthday. she's a bourbon and whiskey girl and she likes cake so I thought these would be the perfect gift! I was hesitant at first because of the mixed reviews. However, I'm glad I got these. I must've gotten a really good batch, because these cakes arrived and were super moist, very flavorful, and most importantly we could actually taste the alcohol. I thought that it may be a slight hint of a taste of it, or we wouldn't be able to taste it at all, but we were genuinely surprised by how dominant the alcohol and flavor of these cakes were. I'm afraid to buy them again because these exceeded my expectations and I would hate to get a bad batch after getting these amazing cakes. 10 out of 5, for sure!

I was surprised at the quality. Look, they are not bespoke bakery fresh items. They are also much better than any prepackaged cake you can get off the shelf.

I thought these would make a nice gift across the miles. They were just "ok". Kind of all tasted the same.

My son just got married in Laguna Beach, California. He and his wife met/live in TN so when it came time for the rehearsal dinner, these were a terrific nod to the home state. (The venue said no one ever ordered desserts so they stopped putting them on the menu, but I felt the need to offer something after a fancy dinner.) I looked at all the bakeries in town but nothing seemed right. Finally I went on Amazon and searched “fancy desserts.” I found these little cakes and they couldn’t have been more perfect. I ordered 24 and all of them were snatched up. Everyone loved them! They were unique enough to impress, in their little boxes with their hint of alcohol. But they were also easy for people to take home if they didn’t want to eat it right then. A scoop of ice cream on top would’ve been a lovely way to serve it, but we didn’t even really need that. I definitely recommend them. They we’re a great finish for a wonderful night!
