Naturals - Natural Shaved Ice Flavor Syrup Powders 6 Pint Pack - Sweet

I have been really happy with the flavors and the lack of artificial dyes/colors. The prepared syrups have pleasant aromas. The colors are vibrant enough to overpower the light yellowish color of unbleached cane sugar. I have found that most flavors still taste great with 1/2 of the sugar. The only flavor that really needs the full sugar is Lime. It has a stronger bitter aftertaste if you reduce the sugar from the recommend amount. The long shelf life of the powder as well as the 1 year shelf life of the prepared syrup is a great benefit for occasional home use. I refrigerate the prepared syrup to minimize melting of the shaved ice.

I would not use the full 16oz water bottle as directed because it makes it too watery. Use less to thicken it and to coat ice better for a better uniform taste and coloring.

We bought a Little Snowie snow cone machine. I also bought the Hawaiian brand syrups to try first. But my son is allergic to many things, including food coloring, so I thought I would try these as an alternative method for him. I like the fact that there is no added food coloring or artificial flavors. I also like the fact that you add your own sugar to these. They come with the flavoring packets but not the sweetness. You can use maple syrup, sugar, or any type of sweetener that you prefer. I also like the fact that you can choose the amount of sugar. It suggest adding one cup per packet to make a bottle of the "syrup". I was blown away by the flavor. The first packet I made up (was a blue cotton candy flavor that came with the machine) we used 3/4 cup sugar. The next packet I made up was the mango from this pack and I only used 1/2 cup sugar. And it was very good. The flavors are incredible. They are strong flavors and very tasty. The colors are not quite as vibrant as the other brands, but the flavor is just as good if not better. It is a very natural tasting flavor. It doesn't taste like you are eating a piece of cheap candy. These are so good! I will probably eat these along with my children this summer. I was so impressed with the natural flavors, no artificial colors, and the idea of choosing how much sugar my children got that I have ordered more packets so I can have a variety of flavors! This will be the hit of the neighborhood this summer.

If you haven't tried the little snowie flavors, you're missing out. A cup of sugar, some water and this powder- and you have amazing professional tasting snow cones. Five star, bring on more flavors!

The natural dyes made this an excellent alternative on snow cones for our grandkids who cannot have artificial dyes.

The flavors are like a bubble gum type… not at all like I would imagine based on the flavors that came with the initial purchase. Def not worth the price.
