Getting Started in Stocks

the best I know
This book is superb and very well balanced between his limits. And this is so because although being based in Wall Street and other USA stock markets, is fully understandable in Spain and I suppose everywhere, a quality another good books lack as these many from the UK, with his excessive focalization in the City and must of all, the doubtable Sterling Pound, a mental barrier. Of course, nobody can avoid some themes are more difficult than others, but simply these are so: work, study and life. This book explains better than any other I know including some in Spanish.

Thorough and Understandable
I loved this book. It talked about every facet of the stock market, but didn't go overboard with jargon. I knew absolutely nothing about stocks and after reading this book I am ready to learn more. It was well written, interesting, and, unlike some investing books, the author was not trying to sell anything. This is the perfect book for anyone who wants to invest but has no knowledge of the subject. I really enjoyed this book.

Kindle version-errors on nearly every page
On nearly every page this book has words with letters missing, misspelled words, distorted letters.I read about 5 pages before I gave up on it. The constant errors make it too hard to read for me.Wait to buy this until they update the Kindle edition or buy the print version,

Even kids like me can understand it!
I HIGHLY reccomend this book to kids that are interested in stock trading. I have tried to read all kinds of stock books, and this one is the only one that I could understand past the first 30 pages! This book isn't a dumb kiddy book either. It goes into GREAT detail about options, margin trading, and investment strategies. The moment I turn 18 I am on my way to the market! (and you should too)

It teaches you about common and preferred stocks and the basics of buying and selling stocks. There is a chapter on different investment strategies and then the book takes you into fundamental and technical analysis of a stock. Finally the book touches on mutual funds, rights, warrants, and options. All in all this is an excellent book and is one that any beginner investor will learn a lot from.

so here it is...
this is very informative on many levels. However, in 1997 there was hardly the selection of online brokerage companies that there are today. After much review, i ended up going through Scottrade which offers online trades at just $7, plus useful tools to help me analyze my trade info. Use referral code YVCF9745 to get 3 free trades after starting new account.
