This is a Book for an Active Learner Who Loves Doing Projects
I bought this for my 10-year old nephew and was disappointed that he didn't use it more. I was under the impression that this book had more optical illusions...I didn't realize it was about projects you must do to create the illusions. This book is more for an active learner who enjoys doing these kinds of projects. Someone who is patient enough and to read the instructions and probably have an adult to help them through it. Unfortunately, my nephew is not one of those.

Wow -- How did you do that?
I bought this for when my 6-year-old grandson was going to stay with us for a week. We had several great play sessions and didn't get through everything in the kit. My favorite part is that the book shows you what to do but doesn't show you how most of the experiments are going to turn out -- you have to do the experiment to find out what happens. Then it gives you a good scientific explanation for the results you've gotten. This book may be better for kids a little older than six. My grandson had trouble doing some of the tricks; I had to do them while he watched. But it's great fun for teens and adults, too.

This was a great gift for my 11 yr old granddaughter
This was a great gift for my 11 yr old granddaughter. I would have changed a couple of things like the balance cut outs. I would have liked that to have been a create your own with a reusable stencil. The following eyes were great and we figured out how to use then with our own drawings.

Great gift for curious kid
I bought this as a christmas gift for my 9 year old nephew. It was a big hit. He immediately started looking at the book and trying the "games". It seemed a little skimpy when I got it, and I thought it would be bigger with more content, but overall he enjoyed it and I've kept my status as favorite aunt for another year.

OK, but not great.
I was disappointed with this. I got it for my 9 year old granddaughter. Some of the projects in the book work well and were fun, but there were a lot that fell short of expectations. She needed help with all of them, fortunately I was there to help, but it could be a pain if an adult was not available to spend the time needed.

Book of impossible objects
This book looks really fun and cool. Haven't opened or used it yet because I got it for my 6 year old daughter for xmas but i know she will enjoy doing the projects with me. she is very creative and loves crazy weird stuff so this seems right up her alley.

Oops
I really liked this book, but my grandson (9) had other ideas. He didn't seem interested at all. Wrong choice for him, but it is a great book that is fun and educational. Great to use with a pal.
