You must point the remote control right at the place where is plugs in to the wall. The problem was with the installation. The directions say that you can cut at indicated marks. But does not tell you it will change the communication within the light strip. I just bought and install the kit today. I made one cut and installed a connector. I used the recommended connectors that are listed on Amazon with the kit. The problem is the light strip now only works correctly to the cut. Afterward, I only have partial control of them. I just had to turn around and order another whole kit to get a new light strip to fix the problem.
