I originally bought this Red Riding Hood pop-up book for my son when he was 4. A year later, now that he’s 5, it is still one of the most-requested books in our nighttime rotation. Why it’s great: Engaging: Even though he knows where the pop-ups are, he still gets excited every time the Big Bad Wolf "jumps" out. Durability: Usually, pop-up books get torn within weeks, but this one has held up remarkably well to a 4-year-old’s hands. Length: The story is the perfect length for a quick bedtime read—not too long, but covers all the classic parts of the tale. If you’re looking for a gift that won’t be forgotten in a week, this is it.
