TalaRetro Traditional Stoneware Mixing Bowl

This review is for the larger 5000ml sized bowl. There appears to be a discrepancy with sizing in the listing. Mine has an internal diameter of 28.5cm, but it does hold 5 litres. I'm not sure if there has been a change in design or, whether the size listed is for the box it comes in.Either way, it's capacity is 5000ml.For making something like a Christmas cake, this is the size you need. For me, the smaller bowl would just be too small for mixing in.It's a lovely earthenware traditional style bowl. The sort that you see in period dramas, although this is light blue on the outside, those are usually buff coloured. (Tala do make their bowls in the buff colour, if that's what you want).It's quite substantial. Weighing in at 2.4kg or just over 5lbs.It states that it is microwave, dishwasher and ovenproof. With a heat proof temperature of 230 deg centigrade.In use it's really nice. Its weight means that it is very stable when you're mixing.One side has a flat surface. (photo).I'm assuming this is so you can tilt it up on to that side when you're scraping it out.It's certainly what I use it for.It just about fits, and sits on the base of a Kenwood mixer, so I sometimes use it like that. Can't comment on other mixers, but my guess would be that the distance is probably similar.Overall, I'm very happy. Yes it will break if you drop it (it's pottery), but it's great in use, and with a modicum of care, should last for many years.I hope you found this review helpful.

Sono esterrefatta, la ciotola di coccio è stata presa da Amazon e messa in una scatolina di cartone con dentro un foglio di carta, non era avvolta da nulla, nuda e senza protezione. Non riesco a comprendere come abbia potuto arrivare integra. Spero non abbia dei micro traumi che la faranno durare poco. Chi ha messo la ciotola nel pacco lo ha fatto come se fosse presa da uno scaffale e messa nel carrello e poi in auto verso casa, come se non fosse vero che il pacco viene gettato più volte nelle varie fasi di trasporto. Non è rispetto per i prodotti, il fatto che non si è rotta è pura fatalità perché non è stato previsto che potesse rompersi e ripeto, la ciotola era senza sacchetti e si capisce che è fragile.

Sie ist aus schwerer Keramik und gut verarbeitet. Keine Risse, Sprünge, scharfe Kanten oder sonstiges. Die Farbe ist ein schönes blassblau, genau wie auf der Abbildung.Das Fassungsvermögen ist groß genug für alle Kuchen oder Brotteige.Am oberen Rand (habe ich leider vergessen zu fotografieren, aber das sieht man bei der Produktabbildung) hat rechts und links einen etwas überstehenden Rand, so das man sie gut tragen kann.Sie steht gut, und wackelt beim Rühren überhaupt nicht.An einer Seite ist sie abgeflacht, so das man sie auch mal kippen kann, ohne das sie wegrollt.*Fazit:Eine wunderschöne Schüssel die gut verarbeitet ist, robust umweltfreundlich, da kein Plastik.Ich bin total begeistert und empfehle gerne weiter.

Exceptional quality bowl. Love the area space bottom of bowl has. Mixing is a breeze with this bowl and reminds me of the quality mixing bowls my grandmother used.

These are like my Grandma's bowls, sturdy and perfect size. I bought two sizes an they are displayed in my cottage kitchen. Can't find bowls like these anymore, but I did, thank you!
