2016 Yukon 5.3 so far so great
Have had this in my 2016 Yukon with the 5.3 motor and 6 speed transmission for a month now. Works very well. Vehicle stays in V8 all the time with no other ill effects. I drive a lot of straight lines at 38 - 40mph which is when I would occasionally get the GMC shudder if I was slowing and speeding up often, but this completely eliminated it. I've not noticed any major change in fuel economy at this point, last I looked the average was down 0.1mpg if any. Would recommend this for sure! Easy to start using. Plugged it in to the port under the steering wheel, the lights flashed for 5 seconds or less, then good to go. Started the car and went for a drive, immediately worked. I considered the cheaper options here for $100 or so but decided it was worth another $100 to get the Range brand name and not goof with anything in my car. Just an update after 30 days of use: Still working very well, but I am noticing more of a full 1mpg fuel economy loss. Most of my day to day driving is around town, runs under 5 miles. I live 3 miles from work, so that definitely does not help, and dollars and cents wise is a very small impact, but wanted to update a larger economy loss than originally posted.

10 month review and MA state inspections PASS
I have been extremely impressed with this Range AFM disabler since I first used it in May 2025. Besides the obvious fact that you will use more gas staying in V8 mode. It offsets the mild shudder without it and the brief hesitation when cruising at 75 and open it up. I didn’t notice any battery drain while I left it plugged in. (Always start vehicle with Range plugged into OBD and turned off while still plugged in) Lastly, here in MA we have to have yearly inspections and I unplugged Range minutes before the machine was connected to my OBD. Range has no affect on your MA state inspections. No red flags, no issues at all Absolutely love the Range AFM disabler

It saves your Engine from premature damage.
This device is instant. I love it. I own a 2010 Chevorlet Avalanche LT. I never knew nothing about this technology. My retired Coworker told me about it actually at a funeral. I ordered it. I called him and gave him the biggest thanks. The range is litterally saving my engine from ruin. Every time the Avtive Fuel management system kicks in I hear the lifters and pistons knocking and rocking. Thats a scary sound to me because that engine is under load doing that. The range device stopped all of that. My old V8 vortex engine is a happy girl now. Im loving the full time power especially when im climbing up 280 westbound here in New Jersey. We got some serious hills here and they are murder on transmissions and engines. I dont even care about the fuel mileage because I do drive local and local driving tears your car up anyway on the feul side. My truck runs so smooth now I dont have to play with the gas pedal anymore fearing that im damaging the engine. Now I drive with more confidence. Going up hills is smoother and I can actually keep up with traffic. The Avalanche was never speed pourpose built but now she moves. I took it other highway for a 40 minute drive yesterday to go somewhere usually I be in the right lane letting everyone go past me at speed but now I keep up with traffic. Its definately worth the money. All you do is litterally plug it in let it work its magic for a couple of litteral seconds and drive. It does not have any negative impact to your vehicle at all. Im so happy now.

Its cool
He gets the job done, although sometimes it randomly does not work. I noticed it because my auto stop will engage.

Works for 2023 GMC Acadia V6 SLT
I purchased a GMC Terrain. After two years of driving a four cylinder turbo, coming from all v8 engines(HEMI, Northstar) I started hating the lack of power and turbo lag. Also did not want to deal with all the issues that come with a turbo. I traded in the Terrain for a 2023 GMC Acadia-V6. Truck was great except for normal driving. There was a rumbling while driving at normal acceleration. I thought the transmission was the issue so back to the dealer. After a couple weeks the dealer "flashed" the trans and we went for a test drive. Rumbling was still there, but I came prepared. I found out that GM uses AFM on their cars, which is crap both for the engine and in how they do it. (Personally, my Hemi is better at it). After searching for weeks and seeing no aftermarket plug ins would work for a 23 GMC Acadia I took a chance and purchased this unit based on one facebook comment that it worked. Well it does!!!!!!! Truck drives so much better never going into 4cy mode. I feel fuel has improved because I am no longer pushing the truck to keep it out of 4cy. I purchased like new and saved a few bucks. It was best money spent so far on this truck. I am leaving a review because not one review has any mention of a 2023 GMC Acadia so I hope Rufis will point anyone searching to this review. RANGE saved me from trading in my car again.

Disables AFM like described
Disables afm. Does its purpose. I have gotten a slight improvement in fuel economy, especially when doing highway driving. I reset trip miles both time and these are pictures of before installing Range and after installing Range

Does exactly as advertised.
Instantly noticed the difference. All eight cylinders are now firing at all times. No more delayed power and sluggish takeoffs. I would like to have purchased the one that also disables that stupid auto stop system but it was too expensive. At this point, it's instinctive for me to push the disable button every time I start my truck anyway. I know two people with late model GMC and Chevy pickups who've had to replace their engines, at their own expense, because of that defective AFM junk. One of those is still paying for her truck and was put in a real bind when her engine died. I'm all for fuel economy and reducing my fuel costs but I'm not willing to trade fuel savings at the expense of having to purchase a new engine every few years.

My truck is a 2017 gmc sierra 1500 with a 6.2motor, 8 speed trans. It has been a night and difference for the better. Better fuel mileage, smoother shifts, more power at any given moment. My truck is a beast let out of its cage, or the perfect work horse pulling away. I have had this in my truck for three months. No shaking or hesitant shifts, just a very happy truck. Worth every penny. Just buy and thank me later.

easy install, instantly sounded different, better performance all across the board, truck shifts better, gas mileage on day to day driving was a tad bit better,on a highway trip towing an atv trailer my gas mileage wasnt as good but a decent trade off for better power on the hills, will i keep it installed? most definatley!

Works as advertised. Just plug and play no check engine and if heading on road trip can remove for better fuel economy
