(I LOVE my kindle
This book is inspirational. I first heard about this book from a review in "Better Investing" magazine, written by Angele McQuade. On her recommendation, I bought the ebook. (I LOVE my kindle!)The writing is very well done and I could completely identify with the author. I love the ideas she shares such as the one day garage sale. (Awesome idea for me, since I am in the middle of a major decluttering project of my home and garage.)Some her ideas for tackling debt are a teeny tiny bit of a rehash of standard debt paydown strategies, but she provides a new twist on these ideas which makes the book very worthwhile. Her lists of things to do without spending any money are amusing and helpful.Good book.

Bought in support of my best friend and realized I have my own debt issues ...
Bought in support of my best friend and realized I have my own debt issues to deal with. Great great great read and filled with activities/tasks to guide you to eliminating debt. The tasks take time but I'd encourage you to do them as debt is exactly like an amazing meal: Takes all of 5 minutes to devour it (create heaps of debt) but lots of time to prepare it/clean it up (plan/pay off debt). and it is so good while eating but you are left with a mess and by the time you are finished cleaning up you can't even remember how much you enjoyed it!! I've paid $1000 off since purchase 10 days ago and am not finished with the tasks or the book. But this is because I challenged myself in starting a fast as soon as I got the book and cannot buy a single thing until finished. YOU WILL FIND MONEY WHEN YOU STOP SPENDING!!! When finished I'll have a better idea and plan of true wants and needs and may not even want what I thought I needed at that point. (I have though bought gas and groceries but the TRUE basics, cheaper meals I know how to prepare) I have since already said no to coffee out about 7 times and online shopping including book shopping (went for the free ibooks) at least 3 times. Brought food/snacks into my longer days in the studio (I teach Pilates as well as run an ecommerce store). Declined lunch but bartered pet sitting for a coffee date. And started posting things online to sell from my house. Opted to go for online Pilates classes and spread out my private and small group lessons I'd already purchased as well. Oh and I had two online Pilates class memberships and cancelled one. Long story but I am rooting everyone on who has decided to take responsibility for their debt mess!!

Wonderful book with effective strategies
This is a wonderful book! I've been trying (and failing) to get out of debt the last several years following Dave Ramsey's plan. I love his baby steps, podcasts, message, but it's hard to do if you and your spouse are not in sync with similar intensity/involvement. My hubby is supportive and encouraging, but doesn't bother with the budget or checking the accounts. I also struggle with impulse spending. This book is perfect if you are tackling this on your own (the author is married but paid off her own debts), or as a couple. The way she describes her thought process with spending is easy to relate to, and her perspective for paying off debt with the spending fast, needs vs wants list, reverse budgeting, and spending cycles is effective. My favorite takeaways so far:-With reverse budgeting, I was able to figure out how much money to set aside for hubby instead of trying to impose an unrealistic limit for him to fit my budget.-With the spending cycles, I don't have have a strict budget with every dollar accounted for. My focus, after paying for needs, is to spend as little as possible, and have a bigger payout at the end of the cycle for debt. It's a small mind-shift from how much can I spend in a category (budget) to how little can I spend (spending cycle). Not having to constantly re-adjust a budget has made me so much happier and pleasant to be around too.-Needs vs Wants list, simple and effective. It's helped curb my impulse spending.-Writing everything out in a check register. This is old school, but helps with accountability to myself. I'm hoping hubby will find this easier if he decides to get more involved with the detail stuff.

I completely enjoyed reading this book
I completely enjoyed reading this book!! I found her group Spending Fasters on Facebook and thatโs where I found the book. As she shares her story, you can feel her enthusiasm And her want for you to succeed jumping off the pages. I enjoyed how she broke down her framework into doable portions and wrapped up the end of a chapter with a list of key points to consider/implement your way out of debt, and you can taylor it to fit your life and debt size. The idea of doing the reverse budget that is recommended in this book was a scary thought at first, but it was so eye opening!! Itโs great how she sets you up with establishing the ideas that help you be successful, rather than you have to these things at this level of intensity until the debt is gone. She focuses on establishing the idea of each piece of the plan to help you get out of debt. She even discusses her own struggles with her journey as well, which really helps make you realize that you are not alone! If you want a great way to get out of debt, buy this book and check out her Facebook group Spending Fasters, youโll be glad you did!!

Encouraging words
The main theme of this book is โlimit spending, pay off debt.โ My snowball debt reduction plan is scheduled to take 3 years assuming a static payment total each month. I was interested in this book because it adds a challenge. Spend less and pay more. Then, beat your old record next month. If you had an extra $50 to put towards debt this month, try to come up with $51+ next month. This is just the kind of challenge I need to shorten the time to debt freedom.

Very basic how to book
Ok but zero insights. Just rehashes common sense savings advice. A decent starter for overspenders but seems too self congratulatory and overzealous.

Nothing really new
I didn't really find anything really new in this book, but I did like the way it was written with various reminders and advice.I don't know if it will make me stop spending, but there are some compelling arguments here as well as some sound ideas, if you are ready to listen.I liked it, but not sure I should have bought it cauz there is nothing new here.
