Review: Better than other leading low-carb brands - BEST LOW-CARB BREAD EVER. I am switching over to these completely from other brands' low-carb bagels and buns. These are softer and tastier, IMO, and don't turn tough in the toaster. I love that they're individually wrapped, which encourages portion control and makes it easy to grab one at a time out of the freezer. And yes, you must absolutely put these in the freezer as soon as you receive them, or they will go moldy pretty fast. These do have a slightly sweet taste, but I love that, even when making savory sandwiches (but I can see how it could put some people off, or might be an acquired taste). The sweetness also makes these AMAZING for peanut butter sandwiches and as a replacement for breakfast bagels with cream cheese. They're also great for baking desserts--bread pudding, stuff like that. The only thing they don't work well for, as far as my experiments have gone, is pizza--even toasted, they're too absorbent and the sauce will soak right in. They make good grilled cheese, though. As long as the seller keeps selling the 24-pack at under $40 and ships quickly, I will keep buying.

I got my order of these Smartbuns yesterday and made my first normal hamburger with them this evening. Imagine my delight that they didn't have a funny smell like some bread substitutes. Imagine my glee that, although a tiny bit drier than normal bad-for-you white burger buns, they tasted like normal burger buns. They're pre-sliced, individually wrapped (and then wrapped together in groups of four), and just right. No aftertaste, not real texture issues. Sure, they're expensive, but now I don't have to keep making cloud bread to use as a surrogate sandwich bun. These are far, far better and already made for me. I'm going to make sure I have some of these in my freezer at all times. They're going to save my sanity and keep me from bread-cheats on this diet.

A: That weight is for one bun .

**Q: What is the shelf life for unopened product?**
A: I keep mine in the freezer until ready to use.  Don't know how long they would last otherwise.  Probably not longer than regular bread before getting moldy?  I've had them in the freezer for several weeks (or longer).  Aside from drying out a bit, they are ok.  If I use for a burger, I put butter on it and put it in the skillet with the burger.  A whole bun is too much for me so I use 1/2 bun.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not bad, but pretty darn pricey

Over the last week, I've compared these to the Trader Joe's gluten free buns. The TJ's buns are significantly less expensive, have a slightly better flavor and a slightly better texture. The Smart buns are not bad at all and, to boot, they have a lot of fiber. So, given that I struggle to hit my daily fiber goals, for now I'm willing to pay the premium for the Smart buns.
