Buy it, it really works.
The product worked great. I didn't have rips or holes, but the color was totally worn off from hair rubbing on good leather! Easy to mix color matching. Use light coats, & light feathering around edges with rubbing alcohol. I did use a better soft artist brush, but supplied brush is good for mixing. Let dry a few hours between coats or touch-ups. A little rubbing alcohol is good to take the gloss off if needed.

Not so easy
Had over 200 rails to do for my two decks. Thought this was a great idea. Ended up using it like a roller on a flat surface and not so much for the rails. Wasn’t that great. They are sponge that can catch and rip.

Works good on metal picket fence
I used it on metal picket fence, the pickets about three-quarter inches, square well

Worth it
Is it the be-all-end-all? No. But for the price, it's worth it. So far I've used this roller to prime my wooden balusters, which was a horrible pain before I got this roller. Yes, you still need to use a brush for the edging work and to smooth out glops or runs, but the roller is great for depositing the primer (or paint or whatever) on rounded and detailed areas. It saved me a lot of time. The foam held up fine. I washed the rollers with soapy water and will reuse them tomorrow when I begin painting.

Great for iron railings
Worked great on the porch’s iron railings. Used oil based paint and no issues. Cheap enough to do the whole railing and then throw away. The angle can be used to easily paint the different sides of spindle.

Didn't work for me
Apparently this is beyond my skill set. Needed them for painting my stair spindles but couldn't get them to roll -- they simply slid down the spindle because I couldn't keep the pressure light enough to allow them to roll. They have metal handles that need to be separated while you paint so the rollers roll and it's too stiff for me to maintain. I can't use them.

A must if you are painting a porch
I found this item to be very easy to use and gave great coverage on regular square porch spindles. Cut my painting time nearly in half. If you wrap the rollers back up in their plastic bag, they'll stay fresh for at least an extra day or two in case you don't finish. Worth buying two or three depending on your time and the size of your job. I tried the wool sock trick first but it was messy and still took longer than this roller. I definitely recommend it!

Expensive and really not effective
They absorbed too much product and then when trying to roll (squeeze) on the railing it dripped and ran. Just easier to use a traditional paint brush.
