it seemed well built the person I gifted it to thought it would be to big to take on the airplane so they chose to go without one

I bought this for my car. It ran my Garmin navigator for nearly 3 hours. I was traveling in remote areas where GPS needed rather than maps from my cell phone. I can charge it from the car while driving. It gives me security and I can charge my iPhone and other devices anywhere.

This is just a battery with little feedback on charge rate or capacity. I received the unit with zero charge as the LED light wouldn't even turn on. That's ok, I had a Samsung 65W charger with 200W 3ft USB C to C cable ready for it and the first blue light started blinking. That was about 8PM. I came back in the morning at 8pm(12 hours) and the last LED, of 4 was blinking while the others were solid. It ran for 2 more hours or 14 total hours to charge. This is unacceptably slow, especially as the draw was up in the 50W range. Thebattery was quite warm, but not hot. After a full charge, I let it rest for a day. Came back and recharged my Samsung Galaxy S24+ 2x from about 60% charge, topped off a Jabra earbud, charged a Samsung S9 from about 85%. When Samsung Galaxy S24+ is connected via USB-C port, it charges normally. There is no PD protocol support in this Battery unit which means that your phone can't charge at the Fast Charge 2.0 spec. In fairness, the most efficient charge for Samsung Galaxy S24 phone is done using the normal charge rate. This can be controlled on the phone battery setting. But for those who can't wait, it's going to take awhile to charge your phone. The unit has a max output of about 60W seen on the USB C port. When charging, it draws up to 58W then stops and then ramps up again over about 3 seconds. Real strange, but maybe why it took so long to charge. Unit has a very appealing look, the build is of high quality and the dust cover does keep the ports clean and the unit looks very well sealed and protected with a rubberized coating around the corners. Just wish the battery had more umph, charged faster and charged devices faster.

Excellent for busy device-addicted professionals, we have two of these batteries and use them frequently.

1* for QC. How can do many of these be defective? Look through the reviews, it seems that it is very common for these battery banks to be defective. Luckily I bought this ahead of time and was able to get a replacement before leaving on my backpacking trip. I had to press hard and hold the cables into the first bank to get it to pass a charge to my devices, and the blue charrging indicator lights flashed constantly even when not in use. The 3* rating is for the functioning replacement. Why 3*? Advertising that this can charge a phone 3x is inaccurate. My phone has a 3100mAh battery and I was able to charge it 3x, but not from 0-100%. It was more like 30-90%, nowhere near 3x in reality. It also charges very slowly, like the slowest charge I've ever seen from any battery bank. Before writing this review I had planned to keep the battery bank, but now I'm reconsidering that choice. I like that it's supposedly waterproof, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

These are the only ones that keep working for years. You have to pay for quality.

I have 2 of the power packs one worked like expected the other was dead on arrival. Would expect better from goal zero. Bottom line if you get one that works there really good if you don’t it’s a hassle to get warranty or a refund.
