Very nicely made. In my case, my 4" vent pipe had a rolled lip where I needed to install this, so it was more of a press-fit kinda deal. I ended up having to remove the 3 little spot welded tabs - but it was super easy to pry them off and doing that didn't damage anything. I was able to bend the lip out also, which was nice. All in all, very nice quality and provided a nice finish to my dryer vent.

I liked the dryer vent and our handyman installed it very nicely. However, the screen on the dryer did not allow for the dryer to work properly. Clothes were not drying completely, I took off the screen and now it's working efficiently. I had had a plastic vent before and this one is so much nicer.

I am using this to vent out a portable, standing air conditioner. I chose this model because the design looked good, and I thought stainless steel flaps would be more durable than plastic. However, as other reviews mentioned (but obviously I didn’t read carefully!) there is a continuous tinny flapping sound when air blows through the slats. It is fairly loud, and annoying. My solution is to prop open the flaps, and I only feel comfortable doing this, because there is a small gauge mesh which will keep critters out. I will leave the flaps propped open only during the hot summer months.

I was laying a new floor and had to move my dryer, so I decide to clean and the vent tube and replace the outdoor cover at the same time. This was a few dollars more than the "Plastic" units but dollar for dollar the quality and precision of this unit is well more worth the difference in price. 304 SS, not plastic, smooth vane movement, not plastic that will warp and stick, Super easy installation and hands down better than all the plastic units out there. If you are doing the work, pay there few extra dollars and do it right. Great vent cover.
